Is an aftermarket replacement in the question? If not, maybe a junkyard?
If you do find a replacement, take the old one apart carefully with a hammer or something to get the CD out.

EDIT: http://www.oemvalue.com/request/toyota.htm
But the wheel may not break it, it's soft.

I'd try aftermarket too for that price. It doesn't hurt to look.
www.Crutchfield.com - Not the best prices, but use for a basic idea, then you can hunt down a model number on the net for a better price.
Q: Where can I get a used stereo cheap?
A: Try your local salvage yard for a good aftermarket radio. Salvage yard's can get a good price for a factory stereo, but aftermarket stereos aren't as much of a demand with auto salvage. Usually you'll find aftermarket radios on a shelf for an inexpensive price. You can also find amplifiers occasionally as well.

Hey...with the old unit did you power it up, put the mag in, pull the power and then reapply power to the unit to let it reset. It may just spit the cd back into the mag.

Eclipse makes a 6 disc unit you can install under the passenger seat. It will plug right in. Or you can do what I did and get the Alpine unit (M-Bus only) with an adapter to plug into your OEM unit from a company called Peripheral. Mine works great and will hold 3 more discs than your original unit. If I were you...before I bought anything...I would gently remove the screws and investigate the unit. If you get the stuck CD out it may work just fine. However, the original 3 disc units (actually made by Alpine) had a design flaw which was fixed on the later units. Nakamichi makes the six disc in dash unit used in some 1999 4runners, but I don't know if their unit works with the OEM plug. The Six disc Alpine unit will run you around $250 and about $80 for the peripheral adapter. Woofersetc.com has the changer for $189. They are very reliable in my experience. The Alpine unit is very reliable. If you decide to go this route let me know and I'll send you pics of how I installed mine.
