Question 2005 Tundra Non-JBL Radio Install

So, I'm not a complete noob installing stereos, but the wiring here just has me baffled, I'm sure it's something stupid.

Factory Radio has 6 speakers (access cab), with a small amp in the back. Want to replace the factory head unit, leave stock speakers and add amp and sub.

Amp and sub to new Alpine are easy, but the "harness" I was sold does not match up (1987 and Up Toyota)

What am I missing? I called a local shop that wanted over $300 to install the gear because the truck needs to be "re-wired" .... that can't be the case...can it??

what brand wire harness did you get? you most likely got the 70-1761 universal toyota harness. if you have a factory amplified system you need a metra 70-8113 harness. if you are keeping factory speakers and just putting in an aftermarket head unit, the truck shouldnt need to be rewired. make sure you connect the remote turn on wire from the head unit to the harness so you turn the factory amplifier on, or you wont get sound.
