maybe an area for more PG-13/R

WATTORA has an Almost Anything Goes public group where you have to sign up to be in, but then an Almost Anything Goes section shows up were the rules are a lil more relaxed. is there a way we could do something like this for YT? a place where the censor doesnt apply, flaming a lil more allowed and the more colorfull offtopic threads can find a home? it would be volunteer based to join the group to get access so that nobody can say that they stumbled on to it by mistake while at work or lil ones are near. i know corey you've expresses concern about viewing inappropriate threads on YT at work on break, so this would have to moderated at home, and/or get someone else to help moderate to make sure things doing get out of hand.

I gotta say I like this board without the flaming/words. I sure wouldn't sign up for it. There's lots of places to go that you can do that sort of thing, places a newb like me can't post and doesn't really like to weed through the flamage to get to an answer anyways.

I've gotta say tofer, Im with Hab on this one. If you need aplace for the colorful threads and flowery words (yes I do too) then find a home that allows that stuff, quit trying to make YT that place. it just isn't. When in Rome, do as the Romans do....don't tell the romans how the Turks do it, and try to change it.... Just a thought.

Gotta say I'm with Hab and rocko on this one... I mentioned a similar idea to Corey a while ago and there are many problems with it...a wide open sub forum would be really hard to manage particularly with the link-ability of v-bullitin... and even with the NWFS disclaimer/sign in there would still be issues... I would'nt want to be the one to try to moderate it either... nothing wrong with floating the idea though, we're always looking for suggestions to make YT even better...

I belong to another board where they haveone subforum dedicated to stuff like this. Its only accessable if you ask permission and not viewable to the public.

Works very well b/c anything can go there and the rest of the subforums have no issues.

I don't care as long as there are safeguards in place so no accidental clicking could happen and using maybe a separate password to access but it still part of yotatech.

Also it should have seasoned moderators covering this forum with an open mind but still reasonable restrictions in place. (no porn but R is ok,no threatening statements made toward others, etc. and keep threads on topic)

If it doesn't happen it's no big deal either.

seems like it might be hard to keep the forums as separate as one might like...someone gets offended and flames someone in the unmoderated forum and it might spill over into the regular forum. there is a reason why i left pirat...er...another forum. i love being able to be open with ideas here and not get reamed for asking a stupid question or doing something differently. i also appreciate being able to browse anything and everything without feeling like i'm on a porn site. seems like it would be tough to keep links from crossing over from the regular forum to the unregulated one.

on the other hand...i also appreciate tofer and other's sensitivity to those of us who do not want this kind of stuff on our forum. if an alternate board can be made and done well, i for one would see that as a good effort to keeping the rest of the forum clean.

Too much "off topic" as it is and another subforum to its encouragement would only be a negativity IMO.

Signed the old

I could care less either way (as long as it didn't get insane).
That said, I like it here, and those are the rules, so I comply.
It's no big deal, I probably cuss too much as it is...

I wouldnt create a new section specifically for flaming. Why? If you want flaming go over to pbb. those guys can get very creative and are ruthless. yota is like a campfire type forum where its laid back and you can discuss and argue and whatnot but nothing gets out of hand. If flaming is allowed then it turns in a bar fight type atmosphere where you have some dumb drunk loser waiting to pick a fight with anyone. Yota seems more civil and professional. This thread would be great for a poll no??

I agree with Hab and others. If you wish to flame or cuss then go to Pirate or TTORA. I like the G/PG we have here.

Chris, that idea works for some forums, but it goes against the spirit here that Chris (Kctopher) and I have always held high and striven for here.

Plus as mentioned by a few others, it could spill into other forums, and it just does not go along with the atmoshphere we have had here for so long.

I did not know Rob had a section like that over at wattora.
I could not see it listed anyways, as I have been blocked from his forum.

Thanks, I use that one every year for turkey day.
It was a turkey someone covered with foil and roasted it that way.

I am so looking forward to the 4 day weekend coming up next week.
