How about 'New Posts' for each section/forum...

... instead of for the whole site?

well, 3 days and no comments. Maybe I didn't explain it well enough.

On any forum, we have the "New Posts" link and RSS feed, but it is a feed that reflects posts across the whole site.
Wouldn't it make sense for each sub-forum to have a "New Posts" link, kind of like 'subscribing to the forum'? Honestly, if a user is in the 86-95 forum, shouldn't they have a way of viewing only the new posts there in their RSS/feed reader?
And I know vbulletin can be set up that way.

You can subscribe to a specific forum.
But as far as having a "new posts" for each section, I have never seen that option in the admin panel.

you can exclude sections from the New Posts, (ttora national does it to exclude the local state chapters) but then you would have to have "new posts" button for every section on the nav bar... just click new posts and skip over the threads that dont relate to you.

And that is exactly how I have surfed this site since it was created.
I never go into sections, I skim the list of posts that come up via the "New Posts" link.
