Help me get my avatar under 10k

I can't, for the life of me, get my new avatar under 10k. I use photoshop, then re-save in paint, but it's just not working. Could anyone help me please?

when you save in photoshop you have to drop the quality to get the phicial size and size on disk to be maxed out but still in the constrains of the forums

Thanks. I tried even w/0 quality and it was still 16k. Can it be upped to 140 x ?? and still be under 10k?

I did it using paint and the image you gave me, but the quality has suffered.

I've never understood why this isn't just part of the code on this site. It's easy enough to simply employ an auto-resizing mechanism -- I don't know enough phpBB to do it myself, but nearly every other BB site on the planet has it enabled so there couldn't be much to it.

my avatar is within the constraints. but look at the quality....I tried everything and even had someone else on the forum fix it for me, but it will not let me upload it at a visible quality.

when you need to save for a specific file size..use 'save for web' and adjust the quality slider unti your preview window reaches desired size. make sure you have the 2up tab selected so you can see the differences between original, and optimized. of course..for a 100px 10kb image..youre not gonna notice any real difference in IQ...

edit: this is all in PS btw...im using CS
