went to the pawnshop today.......

and i came back with one of these

Click the image to open in full size.

a wire feed would have been nice, but this is:
small and compact, easy to store and move (i have to work in the driveway)
my dad has oodles of welding rod that i can use
this came with a complete TIG setup minus the argon bottle
either 110V or 220V (talk about versatile)
its in good condition and the price was right

stick for most things because like i said, ive got tons of rod i can use for free, thus its inherently cheaper.

when i start doing sheetmetal repairs etc, ill bite the bullet and get an argon bottle and some tungsten

yeah its a maxstar, you can sometimes find the base maxstar stick package for that price, but the full kit with the TIG torch and regulator costs more
