Turn Signal Location
I have seen the turn/corner combo stuff and have not been pleased with my socket selections or getting a full sized 1157 in there.
LED's are blinging, but I am not stoked about popping a hole through the bumper or taking it off again. Thoughts, ideas, locations to suggest? I feel like I am tempting fate driving around without them just using my paw out the window.

Why not stock ones into the bumper like the ARB? Could go w/ stock or aftermarket bling...
EDIT: Sorry, I missed the part about not wanting to pop a hole in the bumper. My bad. Last edited by rockota; 09-14-2006 at 02:53 PM. |

I'm out of ideas, but for what its worth, hand signals are completely legal when one has no turnsignals. They do suck in a snow storm, however.

What about a simple surface mount signal?
http://www.farm-home.com/cgi-bin/miv...60-5317~~~~~~~ Or for a bit more bling...This is where Bruce got his nifty signals. http://www.vehiclelight.com/2611100.html

I have a set of the stock corners here I could refit with combo lights, or I also have a set of LED's from my old Runner. The LED's require you to drill a 1/8" hole for the wires. They are similar to the LED's Neil posted above, but smaller. I can bring either or both to Moab for you if you are interested.

cheese, have you looked into motorcycle lights you can mount directly under the bumper and attach it to your body?
I know there's an image here somewhere (I tried searching) with a sample of Armorology's front bumper w/ the motorcycle turn signals. I think Ric may know or have sample photos.

R-E-Ally???? WE have all sorts of laws here in Ga concerning our turn signals, the color of them, the heigth off of the ground...I thought that was one of the things to make a vehicle legal even...bumpers, headlights, taillights (with brake lights at least 17% red) turn signals and a tag...maybe not... oh well.

i did the combo turn signal/parking light with 1157 bulbs on mine. it was very easy to do and i haven't had any problems with it up to this point... other than that though, i would maybe look into those marker light ricers put on their fenders. those might work fro you...

Thanks Greg, we shall see.
I have the stockers, just haven't found an 1157 socket with a darn to stay in there. I will look at the Armorology stuff, something that sits on top just to stay legal sounds good. I am worried about anything stuck to the front getting hammered.

The laws in CO are as follows:
1. Can it drive? 2. Does it have a plate? 4. Does it have lights?

Hello Adrian,
I relocated my turn signals inside the corner lamps. I still have the stock lamps too. I used a little halogen 20W bulb, it's as small as a 5W bulb but makes way more light hehe As the bulbs were white I used a little yellow silicone hat in the bulb to get the orange color, and voilà ![]() I love the lights like that, when you put the warning light on it's very nice to see. Also you can do like a friend of mine did. Reuse the stock bulb holders and a bit of bondo. ![]() ![]() David PS: Your truck is soooo nice

I've got the same dilema. Eventually I was going to build my own 1 watt LED turn signal integrated into the running lights like above. I think I would only need 1 LED for each side. See my LED rock light thread, it would be similar to that.

Its custom one off. Get out your wallet
Is that a dana 44? I think those motorcycle lights, or wiring the corners is going to be your best bet. IMHO, i think doing something with the corners is going to be the best way to go. Its gonna mess with the clean look that its got right now to do anything but.
