I was thinking about the same thing. The only issue I have with the chain is rattling when I am offroad.

Thanks!!
Cost, weight, strength, and look. In that order. I just made it out cost wise. Steel just went up last week by 20%.

That is by far the most amazing flatbed I've ever seen
. And I grew up around fab happy rednecks in the mountains where flatbeds were as abundant as Bud Light! I hope you cataloged and documented everything. I was on the fence forever about putting a flatbed on my truck, now I've officially made my decision. Only if you do the for me! Great job man!

Got the gas can secured. It won't keep them for stealing it but it will take them a little longer
![]() Took it out for a spin. Did some pretty decent wheeling. No wheeling shots (I was alone and couldn't get any decent pics of it in action.) With the the gearing, the Aussie and the flatbed (weight) the thing will literally climb a Redwood tree! I am totally amazed at what this little truck will do. And it hasn't even started raining yet ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The only reason I read this thread is because I knew you would do something pretty amazing (after seeing your attention to detail in your SAS thread) and I have to say I am amazed! That is one flatbed I would LOVE to have on my truck. Nice work!

I was impressed enough with your SAS thread, and then after reading every page, I saw this one and was blown away. Amazing job. It's definitely the best flatbed I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them.
Out of curiosity, what would you say the total weight of the FB is? It's got to weigh a lot more than the old bed... |

I ducked into the weigh station nearby when the CHP wasn't around and did a quick weigh. The flatbed weighs roughly 400lbs. The bed was around 300lbs. The headache rack gives the flatbed a more weighty look however it is only 1/8" steel. What makes it so strong is the structure - 1/8" enclosed, welded all around and connected/welded to the flatbed.
Thanks for the comments!!!

Awesome job, great functional bed.
How is it all working out now? You have had a few months to get the suspension all worked in. I read you added a leaf to it but in the front or the back and why? Great job again and as has been said before, best truck on Yotatech IMO. Jeremy

THANKS!!!
It is working out great! I added a leaf to bring it up to level. I had a little bit of a sag and I had an extra 2 leafs that would fit the OmE leaf pack. It brought it up just a little in the back. I kinda like the look of a slightly raised back end. I really rides nice. The weight is toward the middle of the rig and it is a little different than the stocker bed. I really like it. Wheels incredible. I did some decent wheeling in the past few weeks. my only regret is it is really muddy and dirty. But, eh thats what its for. Thanks again! Kind of a bad pic-

That's awesome! Glad its all working out so well, wish I had done a bit more research when I did mine.
I am talking with Mike about a custom leaf pack now and trying to get mine working a bit better. Great job! Jeremy
