Roof rails and RTT

Hello,

Just wanted to show you how I solved a typical problem in the 2nd Gen 4Runners, they don't have gutter rails!

At firts I needed to take air from the tires and make a little platform

Removed the roof lining

My idea was to use aeronautical aluminium rails and supports.

Deciding the location

Made the holes in the roof reinforcement lines and used big washers and nylocks.

Supports placed

Then designed some legs for the bars and ordered them to the laser cutting shop.

Attached to the roof rail

Bought some caps for the ends

Made them low profile so the RTT is close to the roof

Finished

Enjoying!

Nice thing is now I can lift the RTT with the bars attached and putting it again it's only a matter of dropping it over the roof.

You can also attach some other things to the rails like awnings, bars to carry skis or a rack (I'm buinding one).

Cheers,

David

Hello,

The headlights are custom made, from Hella 90mm modules. You can find them at www.rallylights.com

I modified mine (The low beams) to work with HID (Shield mods, etc.).
