Thanks for the compliments everyone! I can't wait to get it on the trail. Unfortunately I don't think that is going to happen until the first week in October.

hey ranski, when you rattle canned your runner did you wet sand or polish it at all. i just finished rattle canning my runner grey, but it dosent have a smooth shine or finish to it.

Actually all I did was paint it. Now don't be fooled by the pic. If you see it up close and in person it is less than perfect - but for me it was good enough.

What I did notice is that the areas where I had it down to bare metal and actually primed it then painted it - it actually came out with a rough texture. The areas where I just ran a scotchbrite pad over the old paint it actually gave me a more smooth finish.

I sure you have already found them, but there are several threads on rattle can jobs and many have actually taken the time to wet sand to get a better finish. For me is just wasn't worth the effort.

Glad to hear you and your friends will be coming down. I just checked out the pics you posted of your trip to F&N. I hope I have the skills to keep up with you guys (and gals) SInce I have been doing the build-up for 3-years I haven't been driving at all. I'm sure you won't mind holding my hand through the boulders and picking my lines

i dont really want to deal wet sanding or polishing, so ill probly leave it the way it is. it looks better in the sunlight though.

bah! I wouldnt really consider myself a great driver lol...thats what body armor is for!

Yea it should be a blast...there is going to be a decent turnout...

and if holding your hand involves a winch cable, beer or tow strap no problems! hehehe...your truck looks great!
