I made a filler plate on my '85. Had already raised the bumper ( 3" to match the body lift) as high as I cared to in order to maintain enough mounting strength for the winch. So made a frame of square steel tube and then covered that with sheet metal on the sides and wire mesh in the center:
![]() Have since mounted a water pump (for an on-board shower behind the driver's side panel and plan to move the winch controller behind the passenger side panel.
