Newer beds on older trucks

Hey, I have an older pickup, '83, and I was wondering if it would be possible to simply mount the 84-88 model pickup bed on it with little to no fabrication? I've looked at a lot of fiberglass beds and am thinking about that course so as to avoid anymore rust, which is a priority for me. I love the 84 style bed, so I'm just exploring my options, anyone have any ideas or suggestions, I'd love them!! Thanks guys,

Ray

Hi -Welcome to Yotatech.
My buddy Corey aka: slacker - runs toyota fiberglass could certainly hook you hub.

if you choose to go the steel route, IMO a 3rd Gen bed (89-95) lines up better body lines wise than a 2nd Gen bed.

This 1st Gen truck pic thread will have pics of several trucks with 2nd or 3rd gen trucks in it, sorry I don't recall exactly what page you might find them on...

Wow, thanks a ton for the help, I'm Brand new to this whole forum thing, thank you thank you, thank you! I'm actually deployed right now in Afghanistan, so trying to shop for this stuff hasn't been too easy. I also haven't even seen my truck in person yet either, my Dad is helping me out sent it to a guy to get a rebuild, and I've got tons of plans for it, now I just need to iron them out. Hasn't been easy.
