Limited Fender, Pinch Weld and Floor Trimming
I decided I wanted to make room for 37x12.5 on my 3rd Gen Limited 4Runner and Only run an OME and 1.5 cornfed spacers in the front. I already did alot of pinch weld and wheel well trimming but I decided to take it a little further and remove as much of the floor and pinch weld that I can.
I used 16g to form a new floor pan and weld round bar in the gap from cutting the rear fenders. I finished weeks ago and finally got around to posting pics, The finished pics are on a different cam, I'll post tomarrow.
The project is complete and I think I can fit 37s with minimal rub, unfortunently those tires need to be on a 16" or 17" wheel so they are expensive and not on my immediate list of purchases.

just mount a plexiglass plate down htere and reinforce the area with a strong frame around it.... then you can see the tire as you are driving and get rid of the need for a spotter

He's still running IFS, but to handle 37's he'll need to go SAS, the axles and diff aren't strong enough, unless it's gonna be a pavement pounder.

Yea I know IFS sucks, I have broken several drive axles and some spiders with my 305s. I have a heavy foot and tend to be working on my 4Runner than driving it. If I destroy this 7.5 than I might run a strait axle in the front.
37 are not that much bigger than 35s and I could probibly make the drive line last till I finish my Bronco.
As for future SAS I was thinking about running a hi pinion full width D44 with a radius arm and coil suspension with a full width 9", but I decided to put it under my bronco instead.

Here are some pics I took tonight I will wash it and take a better pic soon. Notice that I cut the front of the body mount out for more clearence.

that bronco looks sweet man - is that your FJ40 too?
what did you do to the rear again? more pics would be cool! I still like Jim's idea of making the fender wells "plexi", although, where you (and I) live, that view of the wheel would only last about 15 feet TOWARDS the trail!

Yea I like them un cut but not on an offroad unit. In the pic I have the org 9" axle that is 6" shorter than the front installed. I have a fullwidth 31 spline 9" from the same parts truck that I am fabbing up coil mounts and a 3 link eventually moving the wheel base back 4", definently gonna need to do some trimming then.

I am still running 305s due to $ flow, however I just came into a couple of full width axles such as a set of Dana 60s and 2 sets of hi pinion d44 and 2 matching 9". I also have a 9" that is the same length as my 8" right now. I am wanting to find a new job and then I will figure out what to do with a my axles.
I decided to use JB weld to fill the holes from the limited cladding. I didn't like the idea of putting bondo on cause of cracking, it turned out ok, but I need to sand and paint before I am finished right now I keep it dirty and you can't tell.
