Didn't go to ace but went to Home Depot and picked up a fernco 90 degree 3". The Supra AFM has OD of just over 3" so I had to go that route. I cut it down, then cut some more...then too much. crap. I'm gonna have to go and buy another one now but at least it looks feasible. I may try some pvc+rubber setup but theres just NOT enough room.

Don't get too excited, I'm FAR from completing this little "pup" project!! I still have to get my quick disconnect mud flaps on. I'm getting REALLY paranoid up here. Too many DAMN cops and not enough roads for them to patrol.

Hmm... i'm thinking you could do something that involves an empty washer fluid bottle LOL

On a serious note, possibly flexible tubing of some sort. Maybe hose from a large shop vac (i think mine is like 3.5 or 4" in diameter) and it's super flexible.

You could get some adapters (go larger for that section) and use some right stuff or other gasket maker in there to seal it off.

I'm glad your doing this cause I was thinking about adding it to my long list of things to do. After reading these four pages I had an idea for the box. Ammo can! It's air tight and the lid is removable. Shazam! Now you gotta finish this so you can tell me what not to do, OK?

So, basically I have to come up with something REALLY clever to mate the intake up with the TB. idk. Also, I still have to replace the upper radiator hose and cut/modify that for my aux temp sender. Oh, and do the electrical too! LOL!!!

I also noticed that the aluminum rivnuts that I used for the box lid are, well, crap. We'll see how long they last. I may try to tighten them up being careful not to crack the fiberglass OR just make a new lid that clamps down or something. I'm a little concerned that the inlet on the filter box maybe too small still...

So, vitaly, how's that bumper of yours??
That is the main reason I kept the stock air box:

Made for an easy intake tube, some 2.75" rubber tubing and a 45 degree PVC elbow:

Brilliant!! Need one of those little squatty ones though. You'd have to use a pretty small filter too me thinks.

Man if I could only speak plumber...dude, seriously, we need to hang out more!! LOL!! I think I see what you're steppin in though.

Also, I haven't removed the old battery tray so if I need a smidgin more room I could take it out. Of course I'd have to adjust the HUGE hole I made in the inner fender though!

You got it if that doesnt work then you'll have to come up with a differnt route I like the look of 4crawlers I may do that to mine.....btw what is the advantage to having this setup besides the inlet pointing out for a snorkel?

The radiator wont be heating up the intake tube.

Actually, I've been using 4crawlers site for most of this.

I'd say to shorten the amount of inlet pipe, but I'd be lyin to ya!! LOL! It cleans up the front of the motor, gets the intake pipe off the radiator and allows the AFM to take in cooler air now that its away from the header.
