Hmm, I think I made your head hurt.
I think 3 inch is just fine.
Let me know if you want the next size up, I'll try and keep the numbers to a minimum.

Well, heres the box mostly done. Just have to install some rivnuts for screws to hold the lid down and fasten the bulkhead fitting on. Of course, that's just the box, not to include all the wiring and tubing thru the fender and my custom snorkel head and piping....
Oh, and I'll stick with the 3" diameter.

Today I bolted the bulkhead fitting in place. I also went to the local boat supply store(freakin awesome place, btw) and picked up a high amp wire coupler and a 4" deckplate for the airbox. I figured if I didn't like the way the air was coming in I could open up the deckplate and let it breath some more. Then I realized that all I REALLY need to do is just take the lid off...
Duh. LOL!! Oh well, atleast I have a 4" deckplate now...

Today I went to Napa and asked to see how much to build a 8' red 2 gauge battery wire with terminal ends. ALMOST $70??!?!? Sweeeet geeeezzuuuuss. So, might be awhile to get that so instead I went to Ace and picked up the hardware I need for the lid on the airbox. I got some 10-24 rivnuts and screws, eight in total. I'll install that stuff eventually. Oh, and I also picked up a small sheet of thin steel that I'll use for my snorkel scoop.

Got the rivnuts installed for the lid screws. Turned out pretty good. Just have to get some closed cell weather stripping to properly seal the lid on and the box will be done.
On the other hand, called Napa again today and looks like 2 gauge welding cable is much less expensive than regular battery cable. However, they won't put the terminal ends on.
So, now I have to figure out how to install the terminal ends on the cable...

lol, well, today went to Napa to buy some 2 gauge welding cable and walked out with 2/0 gauge battery cable crimped and heat shrunk plus two cans of the best rattle can paint on the planet for less than I'd have paid for just the welding cable...idk 
It's all about buying in bulk. So, in reality I probably have WAY more cable than I'd ever need...hopefully it doesn't have a negative effect by being TOOO big.
Oh, and the filter box is fully complete and will just need mounted somehow...

The truck is going back to living outside 'cause of the wifes cars. I almost have all the pieces I need to do the battery swap. Just need one more section of cable and I still have to weld up my battery tray. Plus the snorkel still needs fab'd and blah blah, excuse, excuse...lol. BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!!!!

The truck is going back to living outside 'cause of the wifes cars. I almost have all the pieces I need to do the battery swap. i know how ya feel about the truck havin to take a back seat LOL..mine took a back seat for a LONG time..but i just stood up and said HELL NAH NOT NO MORE!!! (of course this was to my parents not to a significant other LOL) and i moved their vehicles out..and put my truck in LOL!!!

Hmm, can't give you much crap since you gave up a full day you could have worked on it to run all the way to Tacoma and back, checking out the Escort GT's along the way. And it has been cold as hell today, the snow level should drop fairly low.

Nope, sorry, no new pics. I've almost got everything together for the battery/intake swap. The snorkel I'm envisioning is gonna be some serious work(for me anyways). I grew up in CO and being here has really felt like being back home(which has been 10+ years ago...). I too love it up here!

Ah, no, I haven't gotten anywhere with this...sorry. lol! However, I am debating on what I should use for the snorkel head.

I also though I would put some flapper doors on it too so that way I could close the front of the scoop off and open the back up for snow and monsoons. However, I'm thinking that weight may be an issue now considering this is going to be setting on top of tubing.
