hummer portals for IFS

Ok in my build up plans I'm working on here I want to use portal axles but I have noticed a common problem with getting an SAS done with out getting at least 3 inches of lift so I got to thinking about just getting portal-tek to build my rear axle and using hummer portals and retaining the IFS up front has anybody out there ever heard of using hummer portals on anouther vehicle other than the hibrid solid axles like the hum9s?

ok to clarrify those are bad ass and maybe for the rear but with the port axles I will already get about 5 to six inches of lift just from the axle so I need to find a way to keep it close the frame and not wind up with a 10 inch lift like I would if I went with and sas and a solid axle. So what I'm talking about doing is getting custom A arms built that will attach to hummer steering knuckles. have some CV's rigged up somehow and wam bam I have a five inch lift CTIS capabilaties and no more stress on the cvs than they would see stock. Plus I dont wind up with a ten inch lift monster truck.

Not that I'm an expert, by any stretch of the imagination, but if you did a portal swap with a spring-under leaf configuration, I don't see why you couldn't achieve a relatively tame 5" lift.

thats a cool idea mtbman....I know nothing about super custom stuff, but keep up the research and results...im interested in how this might turn out (with the IFS i mean)

But you would only have CTIS on the front wouldnt you?

It seems like if you use a sdrop bracket kit, you would get a similar height difference to the portal axles. You wouldn't gain any clearance that way, but you'd have the gear reduction. I hate to be negative, but I think it would be near imposible to use the hummer portals and retain any of teh stock yota IFS. It looks to be a full custom deal, or steal the arms from teh hummer also.
