Custom 4runner center console

well my stock center console was beat to hell so i ripped it and the rear heater out and decided to make a new console that could hold a bunch of switches. i used 1x1 square tube to make a frame then covered it in sheet metal. here is what i have so far

i just got another mile marker winch because mine wasnt working and it came with another controller so i decided to take it apart to mount the controls in my console and i think it will work out pretty good

the rectangle with the in/out has a sticky side so im going to cut a slit in the console so the connecter can fit through and just stick it right on top

then ill put the controllers circuit board and wiring underneath the console

What did you use to cover up the hole from the rear heater tubes?

for the hole i just cut out a piece of leftover sheetmetal and siliconed it to the floorboards and that seems to be working pretty good. ya i know it kinda sucks not having an armrest but oh well. oh and i just ordered a 12x45 piece of simulated carbon fiber sticker type stuff that i am going to cover everything with

if i decided to do dual cases which i doubt i will do to being in high school and not having the funds but all i would have to do is modify the frame a little bit where the shifter would come out which should be pretty easy but i dont see getting duals anytime soon. and jackal what do you mean by the stick knob cover??

the stick shift knob originally has a leather thing that covers the knob, depending on what color the interior is. its made out of the same material as the leather trim boot that goes over the black rubber insulator ones. same stitching too.

my grey one was in crappy condition so i got some pliers and ripped it off so it looks just like yours. just today i sanded it down and rattle canned it 4 layers of fabtech blue. my 4runner has a white body so it will match well.

nice center consol btw but what are you going to do about the rear air??? i thought that was a cool little feature. im planning on taking my boot to an upolster place so that they can make a new one as i stabbed the old one repeatedly with a knife when i got my body lift because it wouldnt shift and the new rubber insolator boots are freaking 60$ on ebay!!!!!!

oh ok i see what you mean mine was like that when i bought it so i didnt realize it had a cover on it. as for the rear heater i dont sit in the back so im not really worried about and i rarely ever have passengers in the back due to the back seat always being filled with my crap.
