I had a terrible angle as well using a modified 85 CV shaft with the TG 12" spline section (spin balanced). I took my truck into the local alignment shop and had them check the caster to see if I could rotate the axle forward raising the diff flange. The shop said I should be in the 1.5* range for caster and I was sitting at 5.5* with the TG 4" IFS elim kit. I added a 4* shim to roll the axle forward and reduce the caster this also improved my Drive shaft angle dramatically. I have no wobbles or any other goofy side affects due to caster and I have had my x-cab up to 95 miles per hour on the 35's in 2wd with the 1.5* caster setting. You can start to feel the front D-shaft once you get over 45-50 miles per hour in 4wd but that only happens on mountain passes in the snow. I have no idea what the 5" springs do to the caster angle but I'm sure it can be improved.

well, all that's left is to weld the shackle hangers to the frame, mount shocks somehow, and lengthen the d-shaft... pics tomorrow.

Wow Mike! Your bumper is way more nice now with the hoops.
Wanting to see the finished truck, I'll be swapping the rear too. David

thanks david. the bumper definitely needed the tube to make it look right.
well those last pics were from 1:30 this morning... (really long day yesterday.) i'll try and pull it out of the garage today and take a few more. it's sitting pretty level right now, even without the rear bumper on. it'a maybe an inch taller in the rear. axle ended up 1.5-2" back.

just pulled it out of the garage. still need to finish it up, but at least it rolls. still need to get the d-shaft lengthened, run hard lines and bleed brakes, shock mounts, and mount rear bumper. i'll be taking it out this upcoming weekend, so we'll see how it does... pics:

Trail-Gear HD fronts need to go in. my front shackle angle looks to be getting worse... hopefully i'll be ordering Bellfields soon. then it's time to save up for duals, and hopefully do some good wheeling at the same time.

Mike, it's looking way better! No more driving down the road looking at the sky. Hopefully I will get to see it in action soon.

2/25/07 UPDATE
trail-gear HD springs are in. i'll report back on their performance once i've driven it around some... initially, good but tall. hopefully these break in a bit, unlike my last set.
