Dude I wish I could wheel out by you. The trails look amazing compared to here in Washington. Ill have to make it out there soon someday.

Time to cut those fenders I bet those 37's rub hella. I cut off 1" off the rear then tacked the body back together and bent the fender lip in to the same 90Degree angle as before with a sledge to hold its shape better. I flexed out with no rub front nor back this last weekend perfectly.

Looks great

thanks man. you should definitely try to make it out here one of these days... hopefully before all the trails are closed. if you do, hit me up and we'll plan a trip.

the 37s only rub up front, so either some firewall work is in order or the front hanger is getting moved forward a bit... or both. 2wd oil pan is on the to-do list as well... the rear tucks pretty good as is, but it'll tuck even more once i redo the bumpstops, hopefully this weekend.

Ya I only had minimal front rubbing on the body. I still need to add some bumpstops and also I plan to move the axle farther forward and same with the steeringbox to accomidate. I think im pretty much good with the rear now as it didnt rub at all after i cut it up. My 35's fit perfectly before but the 37's would have had major rubbing if I didnt cut them.

Looks good and Ill be sure to hit you up if I make it out there

had this happen to me once too, not as bad as your damage thanks to my quick maneuvering, but he still hit me... good luck with that, and nice truck!

well i figured it was about time for an update... sadly, there's not really much to report. moved down to LA for the summer, and have been commuting the 4Runner 60 miles a day Mon-Fri. so far, so good, except for a bad u-joint i found today. making some decent money at my internship, so look for some better updates in the near future... cage, Longs, and a little tweaking of the front suspension are a few items on the list. keep checking back...

first of a few updates...

my old wal mart special rock lights hadn't worked in forever, so an LED underglow kit was in order. the light output is perfect, and they even beat to the music.

picked up some Fox 12s for the front. going to test them out next weekend at the MDR night race, so hopefully i can get them dialed in soon.

heading out to the garage to do a little work, so i'll have another update tonight for you guys.

LED underlights... hahaha! I have some of those too - they are 100% BLING BLING! Multi-color, dance to music, strobing, moving, etc. Great for Pismo - they show up really well on the sand and everybody knows where you're at.

You need a Bling gauge in your dash if you don't already have one.

you know it Clint, these things are awesome... and definitely perfect for Pismo. good idea on the Bling gauge, might have to look into that.

spent the whole day in the garage working on the Party Wagon... finally did the 2WD oil pan swap. i picked up the pan, tray, pickup, dipstick, and tube from Cal Mini Truck for pretty cheap. i must say, Toyota must have been high when they designed the 4WD pan... the 2WD pan is a MUST for 3.0L SAS rigs. no need to be sky high to clear everything with this pan. install wasn't too bad, aside from a few hiccups i ran into (nothing to do with the pan). everything just bolted up. onto some pics...

pickup and tray installed:

pan installed:

new, much-appreciated clearance:

i also picked up some bling for the front-end... in the form of the Marlin UM06 chromoly birfs. i couldn't pass up the deal they had on them this past week. i'll be sure to report back with how they hold up. (i know when i researched them i couldn't find much.)
