Adrian, i am running 5" Trail-Gear springs woth 6" eye-to-eye shackles. i'll be swapping in the TG HD springs once the rear swap is done. hopefully that'll help with my axle wrap. the regular 5" TG springs are just too damn soft, especially for a V6 rig.

they are to soft even for my extra cab with a 4banger. im gonna call them soon and get the hd springs.

thanks guys. the new shocks ride SO much nicer than the bilsteins did. i can't wait to take it out and really test them. bumpstops are on the list for this weekend, so hopefully after that i can report back with some test results...

U know Casey Koester? hes from my HS he goes to SLO and he 4wheels alot our sisters are good friends, he knows of a bunch of good places to go in northern cal but i've never really talked to him enough to try to get in on one of the runs =P he has like an 85 k-5 but i heard he blew the engine?

started working on bumpstops for the rear this past weekend... using the stockers for now, but relocating them so they contact the u-bolt plates. they will stay "bolt-on" so i can use a softer piece in the future, with a nut welded on the top-side of the round plate. only pic i have for now:

UPDATE

bumpstop extensions are done, just need to be welded to the frame. they'll be in as soon as i find some free time to do it...

picked up some 15x8" black steelies for cheap and had my tires mounted up on those. i'll have pics soon. she's a little narrower now, but overall i think the old girl looks much better.

so bumpstops are finally done. the stockers will get replaced by some timbrens eventually, but these will do for now. might also gusset the extensions up a bit, we'll see...

broke the welds on the factory steering box mount... so stay tuned for that excitement.

well, this thing floats out on the dunes... my buddy got a few pics apparently, so i'll get those up once he sends them to me.

steering box is braced up (for now) and got one side of the front-end rebuilt with the Marlin HD seals and new knuckle studs. other side should be done in the next couple of days.

saturday night i'm entering the somewhat local mud bog competition at the monster truck show, so i'll try and report back with pics from that. should be fun to go up against all the rednecks in K5s.
