Looks like a big block on the font of your truck. If you don't care how it looks and you know all the proper ways to mount and brace it than go for it. If you wanting something that looks good and works good build/buy something else. Just my opinion hope it helps.

I would say you need to make it a lot shallower the idea is good but it just looks to too bulky

I think Camel Unfiltered and Electrical tape would be stronger
![]() Like OlHarley said, a bit shallower would be good. by the time you get that much steel out there it your gonna have a ton of weight hanging there. Keep it tighter into the body, especially on the ends. Are you doing a winch tray too?

Less is more. Especially since our first gens are underpowered as is. I bet I'd get up the hills 5 miles per hour faster without all my armor and winch. Dig the paint

This is how I built mine maybe this will give you a better perspective of what I am talking about when I say shallower and it also gives more angle approach and departure and still have the winch in place , and yes I do know the center is a little off but it's built to the winch so it is centered.
I still have a little tweaking to do to it to make it fit right and look right but i started the same way as you with cardboard and as I was making it out of steel I was changing it as I go so always leave yourself redesigning/tweaking room I think the 1/4 steel is a bit heavy but it will decimate deer and still look good lol ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

imo you should definatly only make it as thick as it has to be to house your winch. anything else is over kill and more weight. but looks like your on the right track

Personally I prefer tube.
It weighs less and if built right just as strong.

I also have to agree it sticks out way to far .
Just curious do you have the winch to take measurements or are you building the bumper first . I would keep the bumper and winch as tight to the truck as I could depending on if you do real serious Rock Crawling . I have seen some almost pulled under where the front bumper sits. This was Years ago in the Mountain west.

since it looks like your bumper will outweigh your motor, you should make one for the back too or else it might lift off the ground when you hit the breaks.
