Newbie Introduction

Hey all - great website and forums! Definitely a ton of great information on here!

I've been into cars for as long as I can remember, up until now I've only had one truck, I have mostly had sports cars however I am thinking of building up a truck. Not afraid to get in and get dirty. I've rebuilt a 4A-GE from a Mk1 MR2, restored an 89 BMW 325is from junk car that sat in a field and had a ton of different "fun" cars from a C4 Corvette, Audi A4, couple BMWs, two MR2s, and even a couple motorcycles thrown in there. My current daily drive now is an STS2 prepped 91 Miata

I had a ZR2 S10 back in 2000 and really enjoyed doing some trail driving with it. I have since moved to NC and would like to get back into offroading. The main terrain I am looking to drive are the beaches, and some trails. No rock crawling or anything like that.

I've been reading up a lot and I really like the desert "prerunner" style of truck, however they seem to be all 2wd. I am torn whether or not to build up something 2wd or get something 4wd....With a proper set up I figure the 2wd truck should do alright in the sand and beaches.

I am sure I'll be around asking lots of questions and reading up as much as possible!

Couple pictures of my previous rides.
