Arrow LUV24BY Profile - 1985 Runner

Here is my baby! I was considering selling it (don't smack me!) however the wife said we should keep her and I agreed! I wasn't seriously entertaining the idea too much!

Here she was brought home the first weekend. I got her for $4300 and she was stock and purty:

Here is the first run I took her on. 'Broken Arrow' in Sedona. It was a great trip!

Here is the second run I went on, This was to 'Box Canyon' outside of Wickenburg, AZ.

That is some 'sick ass' flex on that 21 year old suspension!! LOL

This is the stock form:

31" Pathfinder tires
Smitty Built Brush Guard & Push Bar
Nice Seats (Unknown origin!)

Next post......

Unhappy Here is the downside....

Then, six months later some asshat turned left in front of me. Glad I didn't take off that Brush/Push bar! I think without it the damage would have been much worse! It doesn't look that bad in pictures but the damage was about$3000 worth. The truly sad fact is that the paint (I found out) was actually the factory paint job! Good old AZ Original truck!

The 'Other Guys Ride' And if you were wondering, yes the VW was totaled!

Onto the repairs....

Cool Now begins the upgrades (REPAIRS!)

This is the 'I did the repairs myself' portion of the thread!

I ordered 2 Flared Fiberglass fenders from Toyota Fiberglass.Com. Additionally, I got a Fiberglass hood & Smoothie Cowl too.
This is the 'I just now began learning bodywork and fitting fiberglass pieces' part!! LOL

Here is after I got things pulled out as best possible and the new front grille, etc.

The proud finished product. I couldn't stand the red on white barber poll look so I began sanding soon after this:

Now, onto chapter 4! Primered and awaiting a 4-5" lift that will go in before the end of March '07....Mmmmmmmmm.....

(2/26/07 - PICS SOON TO FOLLOW -AFTER PRIMER, BEFORE LIFT!)

Exclamation Current Pictures os of March!

Here are some current shots of the Toyota as it is 03/05/07. the only major mod I have done was adding a friends used set of 325/60 15 BFG MT's. I like the look of those 325's! I just can't wait until I get a new set of 33's. I hope to begin the lift process in the next 2 weeks or so! WOO HOO!

Thanks for looking and keep checking back for the lift! I can hardly wait. I think I wet myself just thinking about it!!!

NEw to *ME* tires and rims!

Here are some comparison pictures of the newer tires and 15x10 rims vs. the above posted 15x8's!

'T' minus 10 days and counting until the lift is installed! I am so stoked!

Talking Update 05/01/07

Here is the rims and tires on the 4 Runner. They are much more tucked than the 325/60 R15's! I like the rims on it, make it look like a 'Trophy Truck' - I just have left to get the driveline picked up and installed. I will post up those pictures when I have it. It will be the end of this week when I get it. The lockers took up the $$ I ws planning on spending for the front driveshaft!

Thumbs up Second UPDATE 05/01/07

These are just testing out the suspension system. Very Poser, no front driveline so I wasn't able to get the full benefit of the springs. These shots do give some idea of how she will be on trail though.

Exclamation

Picked up the Front Driveshaft today! I couldn't wait to get it home and put her in! I took the 'dust shield' off that goes around the CV Joint on the trasfercase side of the driveline. I wasn't sure if the droop would be too much and cause the DS damage.

Might take it out to the river tomorrow! I took the day off to spend with the Wife for our anniversary, going to see if she wants to go out and do some wheelin!
