Great progress. That came out real nice.

ARB front? Longfields? No spacers? 4" springs?

What are your plans for tires?

Thanks Brian. How was the GC?
ARB yes.
Longfields no. (for now)
Spacers are kicking around the garage somewhere.
4 inch springs yes.

I was looking at the spacers. Do I need a thin wall socket to tighten those? I didn't have anything that would fit in there but I only had my tire iron and an impact socket in 21mm.

For now I have some used (barely) Mastercraft AT in a 35/1250/15. In the background of this pic.

The Canyon was awesome! We are talking about doing another trip, probably in spring of next year. Probably go into Tapeats/Thunder River area this time to check it out, plus there are fish to catch there too. I meant to call you and get some info about it but obviously never got around to it.

back to Toyotas...

Yeah you will probably want to buy a thin wall deep socket. Trail gear sells a nice one, that is what I use.

I have those spare birfs and inners if you still need a set.

Can't wait to see this thing out on the trail. My front axle used to look that good!

Here are the picture I have of the project.

Front Hanger with spacer I made to fill the gap.

Spacer welded to hanger, this spacer is so there is no space in between the hanger and the frame and the bottom of the fame is not smooth, it is lower on the ends.

Hanger welded in place with supplied gussets and extra "Elvota" fix gussets.

Frame plasma cut, tube inserted and jigs holding them in place.

By tack welding the tube with the jig in place you get a perfect alignment, the down side is that you have to destroy them to get the off. No problem as every kit comes with a set of jigs.

Thanks guys. Filled the diff, double checked for loose nuts/bolts, bled the brakes, yanked the front D shaft the rest of the way off (PITA), and played with the toe in a bit. Took her for a spin and it's not awful. I never did get the alignment right but close enough. Got it back over to Schaefer's today to finish up the shock hoops etc. Start on the rear on Monday.

Nice progress Mike.

So.. the rear is still stock height, right? Let's see a full side pic with the nose riding high.

That's gonna be a sweet drive to Schaefer's place. Will feel like hauling 3 tons of cinder blocks in the back... all at once.

LOL

I can visualize what mine will look like soon. Geeze. I plan on going the 4" ifs eliminator kit, and then idk how soon i can get to the rear. But at least i already have 4" lift coils, so maybe it won't look too horrible for a week or two!

Well, it's already to Schaefer's so no full on side pics unless Steve wants to post one. And yes, that was quite the circus side show driving over there. At least nobody actually pointed and laughed along the way.

It was surprisingly not too bad...as long as you kept looking straight ahead. Using any mirror was a joke, but looking forward didn't seem that abnormal.

Okay. Todays progress. Let me say up front that these are not the most exciting pics as it was really just prep work today. On top of that, I forgot to get shots of the frame or axle after they were clean. I'll try to remember to get them before we start in tomorrow.

I seem to have lost something.

Oh. Here it is.

Steve starts to plasma off the original hangers.

Then moves on to the spring perches.

Almost there.

The driver side perch proved to be stubborn and the axle housing ended up with a bit of a divot.

No problem. Just add a bit of material back on.

Well thats todays dose. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit more satisfying with some rubber on the ground pics.
