3vze Intake Pipe ISR Mod

Ok, I know several of yall said you were interested in it. So here it is. It fits the 90-95 4Runners and pickups with the 3vze engine. It might fit the pickups as well. (I need to find a guinea pig to test fit one first)

The ISR pipe is made of 3" Mandrel bent aluminized or stainless steel piping. It comes with everything you see in the picture.

I am not sure how the 3rd gen will be. I am supposed to meet up with renegade before too long to get some measurements and test fit a pipe for those.

Cool. Measure your throttlebody, measure your AFM.
Buy a silicon coupler/reducer off ebay that will fit them both together. Having the AFM as close as possible to the TB will increase throttle responce. Throttle responce is what AFM's are good at.

While you're at it buy yourself an AFM adapter off ebay. Most come with free pod filters also.

About the only intake that would do better, is making yourself an AFM bypass, and those only work if you have a piggyback to re-calibrate it so the ECU can run. (And they don't make much... Just a little peak power.)

Could ya please explain this in more detail? Specifically the parts your referring to so i could better understand? Do the parts your speaking of work in relation to the intake pipe? Maybe some links or pictures would help. thanks

He was referring to make the pipe. AFM= Air Fuel Meter. The adapter he is referring to will allow you to use a cone style filter onto it(kind of like a fipk) which is good if you stay on the road but too much dust and debree for offroading(I think).

5 people and the price is dropped to $60 with free shipping. So far 2 have said they will do it. bump for 3 more.

if i had to guess they are just threaded into the pipe. Fairly easy to use a formed hole to increase the number of threads. fairly standard practice in the sheet metal world.

They are held in wih rubber grommets. There is not anyhing in the inside to fall off and potentially damage the motor. It is plenty snug and would take a bit of force to pull them out yet you can still rotate the fittings. Epic Ed has a pipe on the way to him right now, once it arrives to him he should be able to vouch for that.

I've been running this same setup on my 4runner for a while and have had absolutely no problems with it on or off the road.

what size are the fittings? in the tech section, they say to use a 1/2" elbow and a 7/16" elbow....i can find the 1/2" elbow but not the 7/16" elbow

loc-tite? There are not any threads to use loctite with.

The fitings are both 1/2". The hoses will fit if you play with them. You will need to ditch the crappy factory clamps and put on a screw style hose clamp to better secure them with though.

I thought you had that 90* fitting and it was secured by a nut inside?

No, definately not. There is nothing on the inside to come off(like a nut).

Question . . . . in this picture:

it looks like the tube doesn't fit quite square with the TB . . . it looks like it fits tight on the front side and loose on the back side . . . . . like the bend in the tube isn't right. Maybe that was just a test piece.

What is the interference with the dipstick, if any?
