Yeah... obviously that's a rendering and we'll have to wait to see the game live, but from what I hear in and around, it's pretty awesome.

PS3 is coming out a bit after the Xbox and I think will one up Microsoft plus PS3 still will dominate the selection of 3rd party games plus the one-two punch of the Gran Turismo series and Grand Theft (exclusive for quite a while) hurts the Xbox. Sony still controls over 70% of the console market leaving Microsoft and Nintendo to duke it out for the distant 2nd place spot which at the moment Xbox has a several percentage point lead.

Both new consoles are gonna make the old ones look like an old 16bit Nintendo so in the end we all win but my $$$ will be going to Sony.

Nintendo bit the dust when they went to the toddler/kids market. They need to step it up with some good games.

They have their share, but not enough. Most of their games are geared towards the younger crowd. Only reason I would get a nintendo is for the leagend of zelda or the resident evil series.

Otherwise, Im a fan of Xbox. So my money is going to Microsoft. But if I have some extra cash floating around, my second choice would be the PS3.

I heard on G4 TV that nintendo have it so you can download all of the older games with the new system, if so I may have to re-think my choice on systems.

thats true for all of us old school gamers its going to be nice to play every game from nes to n64

Don't be too sure

Graphic wise expect the next generation units to be similiar to the current ones with xbox on top. PS has alot of big numbers but their bus speeds are lacking. Plus there is alot of other cool stuff in the pipe work for xbox.

Also xbox has a few big 3rd party games coming over.
It takes a lot of jump into such a competive field and take on a giant. Slowly but surely.

Sony has such a big grip on the market I doubt Xbox will ever over take it even by the time PS5 comes out and Xbox still will only have a 3rd (projected) of the 3rd party games that PS3 will have. Xbox has yet to impact overseas markets like Microsoft had hoped.
The PS3 still will play all PS titles for people that want to go "old school Sony".

I know 9 of my friends that went out and bought an Xbox and then within a year 8 of them now also own a PS2 for only Gran turismo and Grand Theft series alone and those are the two biggest selling titles of all time along with Madden of course.

Xbox got a late start in this generation and was brand new to the field. This next generation will tell alot about where the future of the market is headed.
It is too bad the xbox won't play all of the original titles but it will play alot of them.

I definately agree on the resident evil and zelda series. The resident evils for gamesube are spectacular. The wind waker was fun but I didn't dig the graphics too much.

Yes, they do have some mature games, but most of the time they are either too short, not challenging enough or they just plain suck and are not fun to play.

I was about to say....Final Fantasy VII better be on that list. I still think about that game.

I for one just think Sony sux as a company. There servicing sux. Every product I've owned besides my playstation required some servicing with in a year and half. My DVD player has been flawless after they fixed it, but still. My TV has been in 3 times, and I gave up after that. I bought a real TV (Mitsubishi). With that said, I haven't and probably won't give them another shot. Plus I like the fact that the XBOX has some hometheater functionality. I like the way you can stream from your pc with XP. I was thinking about modding my current xbox when I got the 360, but we'll see how it goes. GTA you can get with Xbox now anyway, and I've been burnt out on GT,GT2,3,etc. for some time now. I am getting into Forza now though. Anyway, you're going to have your people who love sony, and those that don't. Just buy what best suits you.

On November 25th the Xbox 360 will be upgraded to HD-DVD in the Premium Version only. This can easily be seen by the different drives in the core system and the premium system. The Core System will be released a few weeks earlier than the HD-DVD premium version. HD-DVD version comes out November 25th.
