Would you want to be a moderator?

I don't know if this is an appropriate question to ask so if you admin guys don't like it feel free to pull it out.

I was just reading some old posts and ran across some of our more infamous ones. I also reread a post I had made stating that you couldn't even pay me to moderate a forum. It's too much babysitting

You guys can stay anonymous if you want. I'm curious to see how many people think they could do this job.

I moderate 2 boards and it's not alot of babysitting. Most I usually do is move a thread to the right place. http://www.houseofjigsaw.com/board/index.php? We have 1800 members and mostly everyone is underage but they all get along.

I dunno, does it mean you have to read EVERY thread??? I'd say possibly here, cause folks know the rules generally and there seems to be little drama here. Some other forums... hell no! I'd be banning foks an closing threads left and right.

I wonder if it would look good on a resume?

I would just rather enjoy reading and posting on the board than having to actually "work" for it.

I'm an admin at my own site (www.intheslot.net) Its a hockey and hockey gaming site. Mostly younger audiences but its still good none the less. So I think I could do it fairly well.

There's a BIG difference between "Yes I can ", and "Yes I am capable but choose not to". I voted for "Yes I can", but I would really prefer not to. In other words, I am capable of being a mod, but I would rather not do it. The choices are misleading.

I could be a mod. I'm on here enough to be at least.

I really don't think there is any babysitting that needs to be done except for a few newbies. The rest of the members have a good understanding of what the rules are. Sure links or pics get posted that could be considered boarderline, but nothing a simple PM wouldn't take care of. There's plenty of good people on this board.

I administrate 10 large/growing car forums...what a pain in the rear.

Moderating sucks, and it is a very unforgiving job.

I don't have the time, otherwise, I might be interested if I fit the criteria.

And as long as I have the floor, I want to thank the moderators of YotaTech for keeping this place civil and as clean as possible. I am spending less and less time on other boards simply because YT has a much more amiable atmosphere, so thank you guys.

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. I have no issues with my own board, but it is small, and i know a good chunk of the people who are on it. On large sites like this, never again. It was a major PITA, and i didnt do it for long before i quit, it wasnt worth the hastle.
