I would, since I have a guilty conscience. Plus I would hate it if it happened to me.

Of course, if it happened to you and they didn't leave a note you would be pissed!

I would and I would hope someone would do the same for me.
I did it once when I saw a lady trying to be in a rush in the traffic around here and grind down the side of a BMW. I saw some cops I work with and they caught her, I went back and left a note on his car, and he called and asked my address, and sent me a $75 gift certificate to Sears. I wish people would do it for me if the time comes. I'd pay well.

im i a bad person if i say "it depends" ...
Kinda like when they ask if you ever find money do you try to return it. a $5 bill on the sidewalk, its going in my pocket, a bag of cash that fell out of an amor car, thats getting returned... Door ding, cause the wind caught my door. probibly not. back into them and cruch a tail light or worse kinda thing, yes and have.

Many years ago when I'd just learned to drive I hit a car in a parking lot, and broke the tail light. I was driving my dad's car and figured he'd not be happy so I just drove away, no note or anything. For the next few years I was crapping bricks every time the doorbell rang. I thought for sure the cops were coming to haul me off to the slammer.
Even now over 20 years later I still feel guilty, and I'm sure the stress took a few years off my life. So yes if it ever happens again, I would leave a note. |

I would. There was this guy that left a dent in my runner. It was technically a door ding but the truck was just painted and the dent was the size of a mandarin orange. But since it was not intentional there was nothing the cops could do. the mark in the paint was almost the size of the bottom of a soda can. I was pissed. the paint was only a couple months old.

some jerk caved in my wife's door and left a note that said
" i hit your car, sorry " most likely someone saw him do it and he wrote a phony note to cover his ass. that's why i have insurance, hit and run deductible $ 200.00 but still a hassle

Well I've left a note for a guy that prevented an accident. But notes are only good in decent weather. Can't use them in rain, and can/will blow off in wind.
I've never been in the situation, I'd probably panic and try to find the person that owned the car instead of a note. It would depend if I was in a rush or not how I would handle it. But they would definatly be notified of it...... unless it's some crap box beater car and it's easily noticable they don't care about the rig in any way shape or form.

coworker watched a guy trying to parallel park at lunch one day. Guy wasn't all there for one reason or another. Driving a big american boat, he does the forward/reverse thing 9 or 10 times, inching closer to the curb. Each time he went forward he bumped the new Audi parked in front of him. Coworker said he finally got out, fed the meter, and walked down the street. Never even glanced at the audi's bumper. Another bystander wrote a note to put on the audi.
