I am going to end the fun here, with a reply that will sound like I know what I'm talking about.
Here goes. The reason is, those rectangular frames are considered stylish, and gay men seem to have more of a sense of style than straight men, according to women, and gay men prefer that style. However, that does not mean you are gay just because you have a more feminine sense of style. Just because some people were large "child molester" glasses, it does not mean they are a child molester, they just lack a sense of style. My older brother used to were "Child Molester" glasses, but after I explained to him how they made him look, he went out and got new ones. Rectangular ones.

i got a pair of glasses this year for "night driving", asked for the cheapest of everything and i got some "bronze" colored square ones like that. the lady also told me that people with longer faces can wear round style glasses but people with a rounder face should wear rectangular style glasses. i tried to fight the power and put some round ones on, and my face looked HUGE! put the square ones on, and... not so huge. optical illusion i guess. but, they are only on at night, so the deer in the road will think, "wow, his face doesn't look as huge as it would if he was wearing round style glasses!".
if it were up to me, i'd have some of those Groucho Marx glasses on all the time!

i saw one today, and stopped him. i said why are you wearing those glasses with out lenses? his snide remark was you dont know me, your a corporate sheep.
i said, so you stiched your clothes ( from the look of the ruins of rags, he probly did) and made those glasses, or was it just the lenses that were made by a corporation? punk ass flipped his hair and said F you.

what do i suggest people wear? i dont care, if your gay, waer gay glasses. bettr to be out in the open about than just act gay i suppose.

all i wanted to know was why they are worn. and from the various replies, i seem to have got a pretty good idea of how people feel about this.

to the father whos son wears the gay square glasses, keep an eye, or two on him.

oh and im sorry i missed the f bomb on that guy's or girl's ( who cares) collar. i used the first pic google gave me. im not one to subject my self to this type of lifestyle, for more than i need to poke fun at it.
