where do you get your ammo?

I am looking to buy a case of .40 for my glock. The best price I have come up with was 120 for a case of 500 Remmington 180GR.

I am just looking for target ammo, but dont want any dirty ammo. Can anyone point me to a good online ammo site?

Thanks

I get all of mine from a local manufacturer, look in your area and see if you can find any. Steer clear of Wolf ammo in my opinion; I have not had good luck with their .40cal ammo. In a pinch I will get Winchester, I think 165grain, FMJ 100rd boxes from Wally World for 13-15 with tax. Check out Midway, Cheaper Than Dirt and other places like that, also TopGlock.com might point you in a direction.

That price was from the local store.

I looked and looked for the best prices on a case of buckshot and found it here:

http://www.gunauctions.org

Other than that, I think Wal-mart is pretty cheap followed by Dicks sporting goods (especially if you can catch a sale). Last year after hunting season Dicks was having a sale on remington copper solids so I bought $100 worth. Haha, tonight one of those found a home in a 70 lb boar hog... Dropped him dead in his tracks!

be careful in what you buy, even if it has a so called "name brand" it may be remanufactured loads, these will void your warranty, in the event something happened. believe it or not, the cheapest you handgun target/plinking ammo is wal-mart, winchester makes 100 value packs for several calibers 9mm,.40 s&w,.45acp,.38spl. the 9mm packs come to about 12 cents a round, so you should be looking at around 16-18 cents a round. for the .45 its about 20 cents per round, you cant even hand load that cheap, and hand loading pistol cartriges is dangerous. a double charged load or even an over charged load will cause chamber explosion. but wally world is where its at, you can't miss the 100 packs by winchester. the remington stuff your looking into is 24 cents per round, way too much!!

I've never found cheap ammo at any of the online stores like cabelas, cheaperthandirt, etc. The ammo might be cheap but you get really ripped off on the shipping. I either buy in bulk (like the case of 12 ga ammo that I bought) or I buy in person. The one exception for me is that I often watch the gun auction sites. Every once in a while you'll find someone auctioning off some ammo that they don't need at a good deal.

I'm pretty cheap so I always price the ammo all the way to the checkout in several different places. That's where the deal usually ends and almost always because of some bogus shipping price...

I buy a lot of wolf ammo and have never had any misfires or feeding/ejection problems at all. Now the few boxes of 7.62x.25 tokarev rounds made in bulgaria I bought are a different story!
