Went to the L.A. Auto Show

I had a blast but we ran out of time. My thoughts:

1. The exotics are always cool to look at but I really like the after-market companies like Saleen that mod regular cars and sell them. I can't remember the name of the company (something Coachworks) that mods Benz SL's but the one they had was so awesome. It was an additional $140k plus the cost of the Benz to get one, YIKES!!!
2. I really like the FJ Cruiser. It's a nice truck that will fit 4 comfortably, 2 if you have tall people in the back seats. It just has a rugged look compared to the 4th gens, similar amenities to the X-terra, but it was an FJ...
3. A car that really surprised me was the new Saturn convertible. This is a nice lookin' car. It reminds me of the top of the line Caddy convertible but shrunk down. It had very clean lines and had a very simple look. On the other hand, I didn't care for the Solstice so much.
4. The coolest truck that I had the chance to see was a lifted F250 with King stuff everywhere. This was probably a $100k truck that will never see dirt. It was still great lookin'.

Anyone else go. Any other items that stuck out?

Here are some of the pics:
1. Done-up Benz w/ the nice lip on the wheels:

2. A couple pics of the Camaro prototype:

3. The FJ Cruiser - my fav and if affordable, my next auto:

4. If the FJ is too expensive, then this will probably be my next auto in this exact color:

I like your tastes!

Isn't it interesting that of all the tires available, the FJ has BFG All Terrains. No matter what anyone thinks of them good or bad, they just LOOK like an off-road tire should look!

The auto show comes to Atlanta in May -- sure hope I can get over there to see it.

You're saying that if the FJ is too $$$, then you're going to buy an even more expensive car, the S2200? You're looking at atleast $5k difference between the two.

What I meant was I'm a bang-for-your-buck kinda person. If the FJ is the same price or really close to the S2000, I'd rather have the Honda.

It's actually called a Fisker Tramonto. The head man was the chief designer over at Aston Martin. It's got a choice of a 5.4l V8 with 610 S/C'ed hp or the 6.0l TT pumping out 710hp! All for a cool $250,000

FJ = 25-27k roadster = ~32k

The new Miata's in same price range as FJ, the Honda's

I went the first friday it opened. I have gone every year for around 8-9 years. There were a couple of cars that really stuck out, here they are.

I liked the look of this Volvo

Dodge Viper GTS

I know this is a Jeep, but I like it

I wasn't sure if I liked the FJ Cruiser or not. I sat in it and fiddled around with it. I really like it. I wish I could have one now.
