Thing thing has to go (long rant)

Figure I'd post this in off-topic....
Went to drive my old pickup again tonight.....checked the coolant afterwards and guess what it looked like? Yep. Milkshake. Rebuilt engine my ass.

I've done some thinking and I'm going to get rid of this thing. I bought it almost 3 months ago and every single time I go to work on it I find something new that requires alot of $ to fix.

On top of that, the thing has a totally jacked up wiring harness (engine AND dash), no smog equipment (and I live in CA), has a "junked" title, hasn't been registered in 7 years, and I come to find out yesterday that the 4wd won't engage properly. And now apparently it has either a cracked head or blown gasket.
I'm more than a little disapointed right now but I figure I need to get rid of this thing before I waste anymore money on it.

I bought it for 550 bucks and so far I've put another 700 into it on top of that. And it's just getting worse and worse.
Not to mention I'm still paying off a 5 year loan on my other truck which needs new rotors, brakes, and suspension sometime in the near future. Plus I'm going to school full-time with a relatively low paying job.

Anyhow, I have no idea whether I should sell it as a parts truck or what. I'm going to honest about it though, I don't want to screw anyone over the way I got screwed over. (Although I should have been MUCH more careful.....live and learn)
Anyway, I don't know how much to ask for it. I'd like to at least get back what I bought it for (550). But with all the problems, I'm not sure.

oh well....just thought I'd vent a little. I learned my lesson, so no flames please Once I get rid of this thing I'll do what I meant to do in the first place.....save up a few grand and buy something that actually runs and has a clean title.

Yeah, I was way too eager when I got into this. It's turning into way more stress than I can handle right now....mentally and financially. At this point I really don't care what I get for it, as long as the thing's gone.....argh.

Oh man... bummer!
Well, I'm sure you can do some salvaging with parts. The paperwork status being what it is I think you may have some problems selling it whole.

Tires and wheels alone should do well in compensating you right?

Yeah, the bad title and little paperwork is why I think I should either sell it whole as a parts truck or just part it out. But I don't have the tools or the space really to do all that. My drive way is on an incline.
Oh, and the thing has 2 different brands of tires....and the 2 on the driver's side leak, the front one is held together by fix-a-flat.

*sigh*

That sucks, I've been a little too eager when looking at old junk too, and in my head all I'm seeing is the potential of the truck. I have come really close, but luckily something has always delayed the sale and I have a little more time to think about it and talk myself out of it.
At this point I think the price of a "good deal" + all the crap I would have to replace/repair would equal a nicer/built up truck that someone is desperate to unload. There really are a lot of nicely built rigs for sale quite often, alot of them within easy driving distance from SoCal. Mostly NorCal or AZ.
Just the other day I was reading a thread where you mentioned "if my truck is fixed by then" and I was thinking that it had been a while and something was always wrong with it. Best to stop pouring money into it, and try to get some back. Good luck!

Part it out because of the title condition.

Any neighborhood kids that need a winter break project? Let someone else tear it apart and part it.....

Thanks
The funny thing is, there were alot of things that SHOULD have delayed my getting this thing...#1 reason being that the previous owner couldn't "find" the pink slip anywhere. I went ahead and bought it with just a bill of sale under the terms that we'd go to the DMV within a few days and get a pink slip.
How he ever planned on filling it out, I haven't the slightest clue. He never even registered the thing.
Talk about your learning experiences :pat:

Oh well. I'm going to put this thing up on ebay as a parts/project truck, since I have no registration or decent title for it. Hopefully I can get back what I bought it for.
This whole ordeal is making me appreciate my poor, helpless 2wd Tacoma even more
