Don't I know it! Back in '88 - 90 something when we had the "big" snow storm that left a couple of feet on the ground this lady killed my '79 Formula Firebird.

I was sitting at a light, compact snow on the road, I look in my rear-view and see the grill of a full-size Ford Bronco coming up fast. Before I had time to stomp on the gas she slams into me shoving me into the intersection where I smash into the car in the other on-coming lane and then get t-boned on the drivers side by through traffic.

Totaled my bird  she had to be doing 50 down the road and then slammed on the breaks and kept doing 50. She kept saying "but it's 4 wheel drive". Grrrr still irks me

I stayed home today, was coming down with a sore throat from working at another site yesterday, and did not have my "heated cab" jitney
Winds were fierce yesterday too, making it worse.
Wanted to rest up so I would make it in tomorrow and be better by the weekend.

Just took some pictures, we got close to 6" here.
I have not gone anywhere, so I do not know how the roads are around here.

Will have to knock the snow off of my windows before the temps drop down to much more, as it will be a lot harder to scrape tomorrow in the am before work when it gets down to 16 degrees or so here overnight.

Currently it is 29 or so here.

i have a lot of snow.

It has snowed about 2 ft in the last week up here Nobody even blinks and eye, and life goes on as usual. The d-9 dozer and center articulating loaders are out pushing snow around into piles the size of large buildings. This 2ft storm was a really mellow one, compared to the multiple 3 and 4 ft storms earlier last month.
I heard bellingham is pretty much shut down because of 6 inches of snow.hhaha.

I heard on KIRO at noon today that Bellingham is in the negative temps, or will be tonight?

I think we got down to about 13 last night, plus wind chill. Right now it's about 20 but I'm not sure how windy it is. I know it's cold enough to be running a space heater in my kitchen so I don't freeze. My house is like Siberia.

Come on Spring!

Almost all schools are closed today - only WWU and Tech College are open.

I love cold weather and snow like this.
I just wish we would get another foot, but not have the big freeze afterwards.

To bad we did not have this for Christmas time.

I just got back from Portland airport. Yeow, it's a sheet of ice. I took it very slow and Nimrods in their AWD Subarus were passing me! On ice! Then a Jeep CJ did too but couldn't stop at the next intersection and rear ended the Subie that just passed me. Fools.

Supposed to freeze up by 4 after a brief thaw starting now. Beautiful outside, but when the East wind kicks up tonight some of those beautiful trees carrying the ice load will be coming down. Glad I removed the biggest firs within range of the house last Summer.

Another snow day for tomorrow! I think that keeps them in school until June 29th at this point.

All Bellingham Schools are closed for Friday, Jan. 12 due to the weather. Numerous areas of ice and snow throughout the district remain too treacherous for buses to travel safely.

You finally got your snow!

School is delayed 2 hours up here and buses are on snow routes. I put on chains this morning to get my son to the bus - I hope I make it.

I have to drive to Seattle tomorrow so this better go away! argh.

I think I am taking the back way home.
More lights, but less going fast.

That is unless 167 is wide open.
Many dirve that freeway way to fast, even in ice and snow.

Still coming down here too.

Just got back from an airport run. About 3"+ of powder and accumulating fast. No ice this time (yet). The FJ just dug in and went. I was safely overtaking 4X4's with chains. Then I played in a big empty lot and got all the bells and whistles blowing. Great, safe, secure fun. I grew up in New England and am reminded of typical conditions there. Only saw one t-bone as some gal in a Subie blew a red light and hit a Liberty on my left. She never put her cell phone down during the slide and crash! Both looked drivable, no injuries. Still 26 deg, supposed to warm up to 34 by 4:00 and then freeze again tonight. Should be exciting tomorrow...

Scary!
Why do people think they can navigate on hills in this packed down ice?

Foolish to even try.

Thanks goodness my commute is all on flat ground except for Muckleshoot hill by me, and it is always sanded and easy to drive on.

There will be a lot of insurance claims.
When was this video aired?

That video is insane. that first idiot kept hitting his gas instead of letting his vehicle stop. Why do people even try to drive in that stuff?
