Pull the Bottoms of the seats up first, with the strap that's proabably buried under them, then let the seat backs fall down.

there will be a pull button on the top of the seat by the door on each seat after you flip the seat bottum up. That is for the split bench. Some of the runners had a port installed seat but it wasn't a split bench, just a one piece & I am not sure how they folded down, yours is probably the split as there were not many that were port installed

Thanks. I guess Im gonna have to go digging for the pull strap somewhere buried under a few inches of hardened mud/concrete. The owner that had the 4runner before me always had the top off and never cleaned it out EVER! So theres a crap load of mud in every little crevase throughout the car. Basically I need an entire new interior. Which Im gonna do. I'll post pics soon.

my strap broke on mine and I had to use a long screw drive to release the bottom of the seat. took a little while and some luck, but I finally got it. The seat brackets are now removed...I feel sorry if someone rides back there and I have to stop suddenly.
