I love to play paintball but I recommend not playing paintball with women. Saw a guy shoot a girl in the chest, first time she had played and had gotten hit, she took the gun to him like a club and beat the mess out of him!

When i was 14-16 I paintball'ed all the time. My friends and I still paintball 2-3 times a year, its fun. We usually go into the mountains and make a camping trip out of it. I took my wife last time and she is a really good shot! My friends all said that they are jealous that I have such a cool wife, that likes cars, shoot guns and can paintball!

Well I'm working on the whole kids thing, but until then I'm gonna go out and be my own kid! One of my coworkers thought about making him a ghillie suit, but we talked him out of it by saying that he might suffer a heat stroke...after all we are IN TX!!! What kind of markers do you own? I went out and got a Sentinel TS (www.actionmarkers.com) and I can't say anything bad about it until after this w/e.

Used to play all the time bout 7 years ago before it became so popular. Was on a team, had tournaments, pizza shack sponsers and everything...lots of fun but LOTS of $$$$$. Entry level tournament guns were over $600 back then. Now you can get em for like $200. I went last month though and couldnt beleive some of these new guns out there. Holy cow! I brought my old school "Autokicker" - twas an autococker equivalent 6 years ago...I got roasted! I thought 8 balls a second was fast...these kids can sling 2-3 times that amount with these new guns and hoppers. PAIN! Needless to say, I had an "okay" time. I blame most of it on the field choice...which wasnt much. Small fields less than 50 yards long. Im much more used to the 300 yarders and longer. Atleast you can play for 10 minutes w/o being seen
![]() Kind of funny...it was about the time I got my '96 4Runner that I stopped playing seriously.

Don't trip..the last time I went some female was decked out in cammo gear, with a remote system, and had the game to back it up. She took out more guys , me included, and then just grinned at us all when the game was over. She had to run track or play somebodies sport, because she was just HELLA-quick! So don't sleep on the females out there. Plus I want my girl to go and hopefully we'll develop a new way to settle arguments....hehehehehe. Walk off 15 paces, turn and fire....now there's a thought! lol :pat: :pat: |

I've been hearing about the 'old school' of paintball and the like. I'm not that old, and I never remember hearing that much about it back in 94-96 when I stayed on campus. Now I go out to a field and everybody is between the ages of 10 and 15, and they have game plans, $800 markers, jerseys, pants, etc, and I am runing around in sweats...no matter how much the equipment or how fancy the clothes, it still comes down to the player. |

"Back in the day" against the "rental gun" players, I could litterally walk right up the middle of the field standing in plain view shooting 6-8 balls a second and take em all out. Once people are pinned it's so easy to take them out. Just keep unloading paint and they'll eventually get hit trying to escape. If you have a 1/second gun...you are pretty much worthless against anything over 5 a second. The only skill you need is how to reload w/o stoppage in shooting - which is not that hard. Trust me equipment matters a LOT in paintball. It's the reason why to enter tournaments you need "tournament level" guns (well you did 7 years ago...no clue what the rules are nowadays). They dont want to see people get slaughtered or a team bitching becasue they just wasted $60 in paint on a team that had no chance.

I see your point, and a good one it is. I have only played in wooded areas, and not on an airball field. So being pinned is not as much of a problem as being sniped in the goggles. There is where I choose quality over quantity. Don't get me wrong there were some guys out there going through a case of paint per game and not hitting anything but air. I guess it's just the players on the field at any given moment.

Yeah field has a LOT to do with it...I guess a woodsball would make things different, but still - ever played with a Tippman Sniper w/ a 20 inch barrell? It opens a whole new world to the "one shot one hit" player. Add a good scope and there is nothing in the world like picking off people 200 ft away with one shot...
I think where I used to play the majority of us had our own equipment and were on the same level...so when an outsider came - he usually got smushed. When I went last month I felt like that guy...smushed because of inferior equipment.

me and my buddies play every now n then...I'm tryin' to get my wheelin' buddies into it...when I lived up in sac, me and my buddies used to snowboard and try to peg each other....good times...you learn to balance and shoot pretty well....
But yeah I hear what you're saying, now about guns today....used to be the Angel was the only marker that was capable of putting out 20+ balls a second...it was in a class of its own....now everybody's got an E-marker on the market and they're becoming more affordable...so any schmuck can go out there and unload a case of paint...

Yerp...it has got to be the nost $$$ sport I have ever taken part in. Here is how I justified it to myself: case of paint- $45 Marker with 12' sniper barrel- $220 Look on co-workers face monday morning when you begin to tell everyone else in the office how many times you hit them in the goggles- $ PRICLESS I'm not trying to ever own a $1000 marker or anything like that, just want to work off a little stress here and there. |

I still play, but not as much as I used to...
I shoot an Eclipse E-blade Autococker... 23 balls a second...easy. I shot a VM-68 and a Tippman Carbine back in the day... sigh. I used to shoot Mag's, but my brother (who is part of my three-man speedball/airball team) turned me to the dark (read Autococker) side. I have to disagree about the accuracy through volume statements. We regularly played speedball where EVERYONE shoots VOLUMES of paint... most of my eliminations came from one well placed shot, usually while Mr. Spray-and-pray was reloading. Don't let the big guns intimidate you. I guarantee I could walk-on a field, take a decent rental gun, and take out your average Rambo-type w/ one shot and only a 200 round hopper. Anybody can go out and buy a $1000 marker... can you use it?

correct me if im wrong, but in tournaments, the 20 some odd balls per second doesnt matter, because you cant have full auto right?
or maybe those were just the tournaments i played in.. |

My son recently got into it and is currently sportin' bruises all over his body and legs from last Saturday! He loves it.
I'm ordering him the Tippman Pro/Carbine gun this week so he won't have to rent anymore. There's a local field that has a deal if you buy the gun from them they waive the field fee for 1 year. It sounds like fun so I'm going to give it a try. I don't want to be the only girl cause I know I'll get picked on.....there's supposed to be a 3 hit limit but some cheat on that rule. It should be a blast! We'll see.....I probably won't be able to move for a week.

I have to ask myself that same question. The only way that I would go out and purchase a marker that could equal a couple of car paymants would be if I was on a sponsored team or something, and then I wouldn't even have to because they would pick up the tab for me...wouldn't they? (never been sponsored so I really don't know...) The rambo types are the funniest out there. I have to compose myself, point , and splat...then I return to my giddy state all the while not giving up my location. :pat: |

FULL auto isn't allowed at any fields as far as I am aware... I can get 20+ BPS w/ my SEMI-AUTO. :-D
I can empty my hopper in less than 2 seconds... But I only do that when I'm playing back and/or anchor.... otherwise, I tend to be conservative and let the other team use all their balls... then I move and pop em' when they're reloading.
