Man I love paintball, but those things hurt like crap! Last time I played my wife said I looked like she had been beating me with a golf club!

re

waskillywabbit,
i always say "it dont hurt, if you dont get hit"
and yes, i do get hit
Pretacopower,
yea its gets costly IF you play at a field or arena, we play in the woods, we all have our own guns and get paint cheap, paint at them arenas cost twice as much, that where they make there money.. but it is fun, more fun when its 4 or 5 against YOU.

Yup, shor is fun, but spensiv. Outdoors, and indoors are totally different. But each has its own fun stuff.

I used to play out in the woods with some friends before we all pretty much went our seperate ways. My gun kept breaking and eventually I just didn't want to bother getting it fixed. If you get the big CO2 cans instead of the little tiny canisters you save some dough, and buy your paint in bulk. It was fun. How 'bout some drunk paintball.. now that's real fun!

when i first started playing, i got the Stingray 2, and a 9oz. tank, i was kicking the guys with Angels, they hated me, i geuss being a grunt does have some advantages, lol but ive upgraded to the Tippman custom98.
Toyota Punk, what kind of marker do ya have that kept breaking ? ive never had any problems with either of mine, but then again after playing for a day i would tear them down clean and oil them.

Used to. But then it got too expensive. I would end up spending $70 on paint in a day. Then another $10 on CO2 refills. $5 for field fee. And then misc. replacement parts.

I sold all my gear almost a year ago for $350. Definately lots of fun though!

Gear that I sold:

Spyder SE
Coiled remote with quick disconnect and slide check valve
20oz tank
4+1 harness
Dye 14" teardrop barrel.

Hammer A
Silencer
Scope
12oz tank

JT X-Fire Thermal mask

I started playing in early '92 but not as much anymore...bought a house that needs some TLC. I like playing in the woods (in Prescott) but go to the field at the link now.

Hey, Ric-
When you come back to Colorado next year, I'll take you to a paintball field in Colorado Springs. It's just a old junk yard with various vehicles, barrels and birms. It's the funnest field I've played on. It's cheap, too. $5 field fee and you can use your own paint.

I have a Piranha EXT Pro, electronic trigger frame, Warp feed, remote tank, and a few other gizmos. I used to be really into it. I haven't played in over a year now.

We could also play in the mountains here. However, we have to make sure that the FS doesn't see us and that we stay 300 feet from any roads. The FS frowns on bright pink, orange, or blue spots on the trees.

When did the industry move away from calling the paintball guns "paintball guns" to the PC "paintball markers" or just "markers?"

Political correctness strikes again.
If you call it a gun, you are implying that you are trying to kill someone if you shoot at them. That's not a good example to set for our younger, less resiliant populus. You don't want little Jimmy trying to maul his little brother with a paintball gun... rather, you want him to have fun and get some excercise with a paintball marker.

It's rather ironic...local law enforcement and the FS refers to them as firearms. Rightfully so, too. They can fire a 64 caliber projectile up to 300 ft/sec (more if you tweak the spring). But don't call them guns :pat:

i started playing in 6th or 7th grade and played through most of high school (i am 20 now). I kinda quit when all my friends moved away, most of the people i played with were older and when they all left for college and stuff my junior year everything just kinda slowed down. it was probably for the best though, i had so much money tied up in equipment and traveling and entry fees for tournies that it was ridiculous for being my age. Doink where did you play? I played all over in Georgia...

Here's some toys that I want

http://www.pepperball.com

here's the ammo

PepperBall projectiles are frangible spheres that are built to burst on impact with enough kinetic force to get a suspect’s attention while unleashing a burst of Capsaicin II (PAVA) powder into an individual’s eyes, nose, and lungs.

GLASS SHATTERING - WHITE
Features:
Solid round designed to break glass
Not intended for use on people
Available in quantities of 10, 100, and 500

Our officers have these in their patrol cars as well as tasers and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) / Pepper spray canisters as non-lethal tools for enforcement.

I got to dry fire one once - fun stuff

i hope they arent shooting those pepper balls at peoples faces. paintballs (and those) if fired at someone who isnt wearing a mask can cause serious injury. i mean, they are cool and everything, but i just hope they arent shooting at peoples faces. ok, off the soap box i step

taco dude, that 3rd pic...which part do you want. the remote? co2 tank, or the pack? if you want the remote, i could hook ya up

TacomaDude, I wouldn't get the remote tank setup. When you run the top part will smack into your backbone...tried that system years ago thinking it was better to have a lighter gun...nope. It also sticks out a little and people will take shots at it.

I played paintball for a few years until I found out about airsoft. Its worth looking into. Heres some pictures of some of my guns, few players and our team sniper messing around.
Check out the websites if youre interested.
Enjoy...

Doink:
No, I meant the overall Pepperball thing
As with any other law enforcement tool - there are VERY strict regulations regarding any weapon of any sort.
Officers are always trained to shoot for center mass. As those of you with shooting experience know, shooting something out of somebody's hand is never realistic. Neither is going for the knees, 'cause knees aren't required to pull a trigger.

Anyhow, because the officers are trained to aim for center mass - the pepperball is designed to explode with a cloud of powdered pepper extract. VERY painful but not lethal.

Thanks for the offer though, I appreciate it
