Hey guys, sorry I don't make it over here that often. Questions are best posted in the original thread on PSTOC, or send an e-mail to the address listed and Natalie will answer. She's handling all the details, I'm just helping promote.

We didn't get as dirty as we wanted, but we did fill up a Tacoma bed (forgot who's) with snow and high tailed it down to XxX. I think we lost about 1/2 of the snow along the way, but had enough left to chuck some snowballs around for a while.

It was Tinkham Rd. and Carhartt's rig had the snow...

Ahh... At first I thought it was Tinkham, but I didn't remember going up The Climb and couldn't remember getting even to the narrows, then I couldn't remember turning around anywhere along the way, so .. I defaulted to Gardner.

And yes... RobC!

Thanks RobP.

I'm racing to get my 85 MR2 ready to go. The two race cars will be there (provided the figure 8 survives this saturday) and I am hoping to have the street car up and running. Cross your fingers everyone!

btw, it will be for sale so anyone who wants a mint 85, keep your eyes open!

I may try and make this still, but I did not register to enter.
Never been to this park, but I assume it is not to far from my home.

I will just set the NAV unit to talk me to it

Part rant about my dumb friend, part rant about dumb cars breaking

Well so much for a fun day at the park. I didn't even make it 5 miles from my house before I had to call a frickin tow truck.

So the cruiser needed a valve adjustment. It's been needing one for a little while but it doesn't get driven too often so it's never been addressed. But I figured I'd go ahead and perform the maintenance since the trek from Hillsboro, OR to Auburn, WA is a bit more than it's used to. So great, wonderful, took me almost 5 hours but whatever. Adjusting screws with locking nuts on a running motor is pretty much a big pain in the ass.

Anyways, yesterday just pretty much got screwed. I found another driver for my pickup which was great. A friend of mine, though he really didn't want to drive it because he's a silly race guy and thinks anything of mine that has slight probelms and isn't something he can fix, is a piece of crap. But whatever, I told him I paid for it, he agreed to drive it, so that's how it's staying. We attempted to put a stereo in it so he could listen to some tunes, but that of course didn't work out (i let him borrow my zune). So we drive both vehicles to my house, he stays the night so we can get a nice early start in the morning, because I know leaving at 8:30am wouldn't happen if I had to rely on him driving out to my place from his house that early. Well we still didn't leave on time!!!! Why??!!?!!? Because his stupid ass didn't get out of bed until 8:20. It took all of my self control not to scream at him. I was so furious, especially considering I dragged my butt out of bed at 6am to go outside and wash the damn cruiser for this thing! I know this event wasn't anything huge or super official, but I really wanted to be there and it pissed me off that he could have cared more about the earth's insect population than us getting there on time.

But eventually we get on the road almost an hour late, and we were already going to be pushing it getting there betwen 11 and 11:30. We get not 5 miles down the highway from my house and have to stop a second time. The first time was because I forgot to push the windshield wipers back to on to the windshield haha. The second time was because I happened to look down at the temp gauge and it was completely maxed out!! Not even within in the white bars, I mean all the way to the right on the outside of the "gauge marks"!!! I about had a freak out panic attack. So I pulled over, got out and told my friend it was over heating and that I didn't want to take it. We first decided that we'd wait for it to cool down and drive it back to my house. Well after almost a half hour the gauge never moves. So I start thinking to myself, wtf? did I hit some wire in the engine bay when I was washing it that got disconnected? or something like that? So I start rummaging around looking for any connection that was bad or disconnected or anything. Couldn't find any. So now I'm trying to figure out if it's an electrical problem, or if it's a mechanical problem, ie. the cooling system quite working properly, the thermo died etc.

Regardless, I didn't trust driving it any further just in case there was really something else wrong with the adjustments I made the night prior. So we have to sit, and wait, for the tow truck.

It was a really crappy morning and I'm totally bummed I didn't make it. Hope you all had fun, I know I would have.

Bummer, sorry to hear of your troubles, and I hope you get it back on the road again.

Needless to say, I live within 10 miles of this place, and I did not make it.
It was pouring down rain earlier in the morning, and I got involved working on other projects around my place that I had been putting off.

I would have liked to have gone, and if it did not start out raining, I would have gone.
