I've heard that that car (and it's Indian counterpart) are strictly for the Indian market where a $3000 price tag is about a years salary. Current models by all the major manufacturers are financially unavailable to 99.9% of Indian consumers and they are predicted to be 2nd fastest growing market (behind China).
