Toyota already has a fullsize, the Tundra.
And next year it will be gracing the ranks of BASHCAR... er I mean NASCAR Truck races. In 2007 the Camry or some other Toyota will be in Winston Cup. What the hell are they doing. Trying to be Ford???

No, not Ford. Chevy has dominated the sport throughout it's existance.
I'd like to see the Tundra in action among the other trucks, but not the Camry. Winston Cup is an American Racing Series. They're gonna have to rename it Nascar International Winston Cup. Pretty soon they'll be holding races in Japan.

Saw some specs on XOC:
"best in class 4lo crawl ratio" dana 44s front and rear (ifs front). 300hp 375 ft-lbs torque 9400lb towing capacity rear electric locker factory spray in bed liner lockable bedside storage compartment sounds pretty good to me. The tundra still isn't full size. I've heard the Titan is bigger than a F150. Steve

I think the Nissan looks incredible - both aesthetically and functionally (rear locker, crawl ratio, etc) . I will seriously consider buying the crew cab version or their SUV over a 2004 4Runner or Tacoma (I'll be getting a vehicle in fall of '03). And it might take a couple of years for people to realize that it's a legitimate full-sized truck, but I think it will SERIOUSLY put a dent in American market share.
More competition = better vehicles

I personally really like the Titan
And I'm beginning to really like Nissans (They're about tied with Toyota in my book) Nissan has some VERY nice cars and trucks, and I really think that they're a force to be reckoned with, and especially now with the Titan coming out.Hannerhan- I did what you're thinking about, about a month and a half ago or so, I bought a new truck. After looking at newer 4Runners (I have a '91 4Runner, but wanted to get a new truck, and have the 4Runner as more of a trail truck) they seemed just a little too expensive for me. So I began looking at other SUVs, I Immediately ruled out Fords, Chevy, GMC, Dodge, and Jeep simply because I prefer foreign cars (I love the reliability ) And I was watching TV one night and saw an Ad for the Nissan Xterra (I had completely forgotten about it ) So the next day I went out looking at Xterras, and did some reading about them, and went out a few days later and bought a new 2002 Xterra Personally if I had the money, I would of gotten a 2002 4Runner, but money was a big concern with me, and I was able to get an Xterra just about fully loaded for about $4,000 or $5,000 less than a 4Runner with less options (atleast all the ones I looked at) And they have very similar reliabilty compared to Toyotas (although I don't think anyone can really beat a Toyota). I'm not trying to steer you away from Toyota, but Nissans are really great trucks (well this is my opinion from driving 1800 miles in my Xterra ) But if Toyota would come out with a less expensive version of the 4Runner geared more towards outdoorsy people (like Nissan has done with the Xterra) then put me on the list. And as far as Nascar goes, I don't get it hehe I've watched it a few times, and I really don't get it, I get bored with it. I can only watch guys driving around a track at 150+ miles per hour so many times No offense to any of you who like it, I just don't get it.*EDIT* I just read that the new Toyota FJ is geared towards younger people / outdoor enthusiasts. Now the only thing is how much it will cost hehehe if the price is right, I may have to trade in my Xterra!-Braden

Like everything else, Toyota will probably price it too high for us common folk. If they could only price it for under $20k.
