I think someone picked it for an investment and it'll be stored for the next 15-20 years at which point it will show up on neural-ebay and we'll be able to bid on it just by thinking about it.

Awesome. Have you been driving it? Still mint? (I"m not buying, only wishing I could).
Since yours is an '85 and has every option (IIRC), I would think that price is not out of the question compared to these others.

Still mint and under 36,000 miles. I drive it a few times a month for 20-30 minutes. My plan is to try out ebay's best offer listing to advertise it. Then put it up for actual auction the following week.

To me it doesn't make sense to pay that knid of money for something like that. For 10k you could get a nice 3rd gen or Tacoma. To buy it as a trail rig is one thing, but who would buy a perfect truck then mod and wheel it, at least one like that! It will never be a collectors item as other than being in good shape there is nothing special about an 89 Runner. Of course maybe to a particular person it will be special, but not so much that you would be able to sell it for 100k someday.

If I had unlimited funds I would snatch up poboys for 13k in a heartbeat. I wouldn't do a thing to it, just look at it and drool.

I'd have bought it. Low miles and in great condition. 10k seems like a steal, but then again, i wouldn't really ever consider buying anything else, but a first gen so maybe i'm too biased.
