Tough to prove that she has it. At this point its your word against hers. You need to find some way to figure out if she actually has the book. Do you have any resonable suspicion that could link her to taking it? like perhaps behaviour or something specific she has done in the past?

well she got all of her stuff out now....i am just glad to wash my hands of the situation....
and there are many stone quarries around... but i am not a violent person....

The problem is the paper work has no direct dollar value. Law Enforcement would probably consider this a civil matter.
On the civil front it would difficult to force her to surrender the documents without proof she took them. In short, your screwed buddy. Next time, keep the materials under lock and key. I have had this happen to me too (sad to say). |
