New work toy, Bobcat Toolcat

http://www.bobcat.com/utility_machines/toolcat

Demoed one during the summer from Boeing Plant II.
They use it to keep the field/strip snow free, and for other stuff.

These accept around 31 attachments or so too.
Ordered mine before the strike, and it just came in a week back, and I took delivery of it yesterday.
We only got the rotating brush up front and a bucket loader for the front too.

It has a tilt bed and also a tank with two booms and a sprayer hose on a reel to dispense liquid deicer.
May get a change to use the latter on Monday, as we are getting cold and snow over the weekend.
The brush clears both snow and moss.

We have lots of walking trails around our two lakes at work, and today I tackled one trail and it took up the moss perfectly.

It has a heater, air-con for the summer too.
It is 4WD, and with a flick of a switch, it has true 4 wheel steer.
If I flip it back to 2 wheel steer with the rear tires still turned, I can do the crab walk, looks pretty funny driving it that way

Will be getting lots of use from this new toy at work.
I had just got done washing it when I snapped the pics.
Can not use soap there for environmental reasons, so I can only hose it down, use a long handled brush with a bucket of water.
Gets it clean enough though, as it was groady after doing the trail.

Going to try knocking out the rest of the trails tomorrow weather permitting.
It is a blast to drive, and it is also diesel.

The brush works pretty good for snow, no plow needed.

I did not want music in it, it is a distraction while working.
The only time I listen to music at work is when I am driving a company car from one site to another, or I listen to Sirius satellite radio on the PC during lunch.

We also have a huge daycare center at work, and the playground uses rubber chips made from old tires.
We have to rip open the bags and pour it by hand.
With this Toolcat, we can dump the bags into the tilt bed in the back and I can dump it out, or I can load up the bucket attachment up front with the rubber and dump it that way too.

This new tool is going to save us some time and energy.

No idea on the bio.
Plus it gets fueled up from a Boeing fuel truck from the fuel farm.

If it was street drivable, I would drive it to the Renton (737) plant and fill it myself where I fuel up all of the other street drivable rigs.

No way to get there off road
I did use it for an hour today clearing moss from the nature trails around the two lakes.

Snapped a few cell phone pics.
It makes a HUGE rooster tail of water, moss, and leaves fly up.
Pretty much shreds them.

I am on standby too in case we get snow here, I may have to go in Sunday to clear snow or lay down the deicer liquid.

It is a blast to drive, and it has cruise control too so I do not have to push the pedal down.

I would be careful w/ the bio-diesel idea. I know that if you use bio in a John Deer engine the warranty is voided. I work @ a bobcat dealer up north of you. On Monday I will ask about the bio in your Bobcat thought.

No bio, we are not allowed to use it, Boeing does not carry it.
I can only fuel up at a Boeing plant or have the Boeing fuel farm truck come to me to fill this since I can not drive it on the street.

VSU, not a contractor, I work for Boeing as a Motive Equipment Operator, and I support our facilities team here who takes care of the buildings for corporate.

Very cool rig, Corey.

I read your link and found the onboard tech like turbo, traction control, four-wheel independent suspension, cruise, etc., amazing, not to mention 5,500 lbs.

I hope you have help clearing the main runway at BFI, and the heater works well!

Yeah, we're expecting snow here Sunday, 3' in the mountains, 2" in the valley. Should be fun unless it ices up.
