i have a question...it seems almost all cars outside of california have a dealer badge on the back of them? why? at least that's my experience from where i've been around the country. none of that in california, but i see it all the other states i've been in.

That should be a law in all states. That's the first thing I remove when I get a new vehicle. They don't pay me to advertise

Good observation. I did notice that when I went out to the east coast for school. My wife's Camry has a dealership sticker on it. When it got out to California, I removed that sticker with a blow dryer, some Goo Gone (goof off? I forget), some rubbing compound, and polished and waxed it like it was going out of style.

The sun seemed to have faded the outline but if you look real closely, you can see it. But you have to get up close:

And yes, its free advertising that's not easily removable (like a license plate frame) so I think it should be illegal. Maybe it is out here in CA.

To that point, back when I had my Honda Civic, I had it tinted and those bastards took my custom frame off and put their cheesy shop frame. They threw out the frame, I got pissed, and they took off 50% off my bill because I was making such a ruckus in front of their potential clients in their showroom.

i had a friend of mine buy a truck in Denver, CO. He picked out the one he wanted (new), and was all set to go.

They hemmed and hawed, and said they couldn't give it to him yet, it still needed to be "detailed".

A new truck? Well, on pressing them for details, they hadn't had enough time to drill a frippin' hole in the back to put their little advertisement on it. So they were going to hold up letting him have the truck, just so he could advertise for 'em.

The explosion was immense....
