National Lampoons Denver Vacation

OK, the wife and I are taking the kids to Denver for a short vacation (I can't take very much time off with a small business).

We plan to go to Water World, 6 Flags, Coors Brewery , etc.

Where should we stay? There are a million hotels in Denver and I don't know the area well enough to know where we should stay.

Any help would be appreciated.

stay away from anything rhyming with federal heights (apologies to anyone living there... but you know whereof i speak). if you wanna pay a lot, stay in LoDo. there are a couple of new hi-rise corporate hotels in westminster, but that's a bit of a drive from water world and elich gardens. it wouldn't be a bad drive to coors, but i'm not sure if you wanna split the difference or move around.

if you want to post a couple names you're considering, i can throw in my $0.02 about whether to keep them on your list or not.

Not sure what you are looking for.
i have stayed in Denver more times that i care to remember for my last job. Unfortunatly i only stayed at two different hotels.
One was a Homestead hotel, it good for extended stays, gives you all the cooking ammenaties, stove, fridge ect. decent price.
link

The other was the one i stayed at the most, the Holiday inn downtown.
link 2

I didnt have to pay so i usually stayed here. was walking distance from alot of good restaurants, shows, movies ect. I like ESPN Zone. got to get there early to get the big chairs.

If you get a chance for lunch or a really good dinner they have a Dave and Busters close by. Realy fun place, can look up both restaurants online to see what i am talking about.

Sorry i cant be of more help, usually so tired after work (did a good portion of the lighting control systems in the colorado convention center) went to bed, or to buddies house in town.

hope you have a good trip.

Reggie

I only live here, so I couldn't tell you about a good hotel. Coors is okay, but it might be more fun to hit a smaller, more crafty brewery like Great Divide or something.

We will be there Thursday 7/20 late, Fri, Sat and Sun.

I appreciate the offer of your pad. Although, the wife and kids are looking forward to spending a few nights in a hotel being pampered by maids and such. Unless you offer maid service...

Although, I would like to hang with you at a minimum on one evening while we are in town. And you are more than welcome to hang with us for a brew tour, water park or somethin' while we are there.

Maybe we can even get Brent and Heather to hang out?

(I responded to your other thread too)

My place is not that great, but it would be cool to hang with y'all outside a wheeling event.

I will hit Brent another note.

body worlds is a _great_ exhibit -- singular...nothing like it! if you can make time to go see it, DO. it's here until 7/23. get your tickets AHEAD of time by calling the museum. you will have zero luck if you show up and hope to get in. check their site for times and availability: http://www.dmns.org/main/en/
