my new toy (not Toyota)

Picked it up this weekend. My MSF course is this weekend so I'm not going to ride it till after that. I'd prefer to keep that pretty paint off the pavement.

Not sure how many crotch rocket fans there are on here but I thought I would share my new baby.

You used to live up here?

I've wanted a crotch rocket for a long time and now I finally have a garage to put it in.

Wow that bike's in really great shape. See if you can get some frame sliders on there. That will help save that pretty paint because a fall is almost inevitable. I've yet to lay down by buddies '02 CBR F4i (knocks on wood) but I'm pretty careful and don't push it too hard. Have fun, always wear your helmet, and try to stay out of trouble.

BTW, how much did you give for it if you don't mind me asking?

I sure did! I miss that place. I used to work as a youth intervention specialist for the city in conjunction with the police department.

I used to be a regular on the strip. First with my Mazda lowrider truck, then with my 95 Civic SI. We used to park down at "unemployment beach" by the Super 24 and the huge brick house. I thought I was so cool...lol.

If I can convince my wife, someday we will move up there.

CBR's are nice. Well anything Honda is nice really.

Sure you are ready for the rain again? Although the sun can't be that much better.

The color is actually the Civic SI blue. But I agree it looks like the R6's.

Got any pics or link for frame sliders? I've heard of them just haven't seen any. I'm trying to be as safe as possible. I'm not even going to take the bike out until after next weekend. It's going to be a long week seeing that in the garage every day.
I paid $3500 out the door for the bike, tax, licensing, title, a $200 jacket and a $50 pair of gloves.

Crap man, what do you need two for? Both of those are a little bit beyond my skill level right now. Hell my bike is beyond my skill level right now.

Awesome! I knew some of the best designs in the personal transportation department came out of the 80's. I like its "bigness" if you will, alot of the other ones I see are tiny, but I think the size of it really adds some character, and I like its no nonsense curves. Oh and the paint job! Just keep the rubber side down and wear a helmet!

Here's what a quick search of Yahoo gave me.

http://www.cyclestuffusa.com/framslidbydi.html

I wouldn't be suprised if you can find some on ebay.

That bike looks awesome! My roommates and I have been looking at bikes recently and we want to get bikes when we graduate...

Does anyone know of any good bike forums I can go check out and ask some newbie questions at?

Sweet!
I'd love to get a bike right now (especially with the gas $$) but Jennifer would kill me...

That bike looks great for an 89! Congrads

First bike I ever learned to ride on was a 2001 R1 (blue) that was modded, I wouldn't say it's beyond your skill level, you just have to use common sence. A lot of people start out with 750cc bikes or bigger.

Just please remember to always wear full gear, not just the helment, but leather from head to toe. Too many bikers find out the hard way about what road rash feels like.

So... when is the nitrous going on it?

I'm definately planning to get a bike, I just won't settle for a 600cc (no offence) I want at least a GSXR-750, or better yet an R1, or... a boosted Hyabusa that puts down 400whp+. Damn it, I'm getting way too ahead of myself.

Once again, congrads, be safe (speed safely) and have fun
