My 4-Runner is a write off

Thanks to some jerk who decided to run into me.

All 5 people in my truck including myself had only very minor injuries, I guess my truck died in the most noble way possible, protecting its occupants.

I am sorry to hear that.
Glad you are OK.

Wrecks do suck, especially after you dump a ton of modifications into them.

Have you thought yet what you might look for next?

My '90 truck also gave up its life to protect me back in '98 from a non licensed non insured drunk.
She hardly got hurt at all.

Its either going to be an HDJ-81 or an FJ-Cruiser, not entirely sure which yet. Most likely the FJ though as finding the right HDJ-81 is near impossible.

Damn Ocelot! That bites! I know how you feel... at least mine did'nt get wrote off... Let me guess the "minor injuries" were from the air bag right? I see the blood stains on the bag... Looks like the accident happened at the worst time off day... twilight right? Hope BC ins. takes care of you right.

I've been looking at those new FJs ... nice but I'd want a diesel one...if you could only get it... That burgundy red they come in looks sharp over the silver cladding FWIW...

So, by the pictures, can we assume the jeep was making a left hand turn into oncoming traffic?

X2--glad to hear you are all OK. Hopefully the cherokee owner had decent insurance--but I don't know how the insurance deal works in canada, don't you guys have some funky no fault insurance where the Jeep covers himself and you have to worry about you Runner?? Good luck

That is a very hard way to learn about the "Jeep Thing".

I'd still imagine you don't understand.

Best of luck. I guess the lack of injury is a good testament to the 4Runner though... if there is any sort of bright side to be found.

Some provinces have "no-fault" and some don't basically how it works is so far as the repair of the vehicle each persons ins. takes care of them. When there are third parties involved ie. passengers/pedestrians etc. than the driver who caused the accident is on the hook and it goes to court and all the legal hoo-hah begins... It also depends on what kind of coverage you have you can be sittin' pretty or totally screwed...

Ocelot--that's terrible! One less manual trans 3rd gen on the road. I hope you find a something you like as much or more than your 4Runner.

Glad everyone in the Runner was OK. Was there anyone riding shotgun in the Heep? If so, they'll probably have to replace that seat.

The vehicle was making a left turn on a green light for both of us, turned at the last second right infront of me, didn't even have time to slam my brakes. We do not have "no-fault" insurance here, so their insurance pays for my new vehicle. They also received a ticket for failing to yeild to add to their misery.
