Well, thanks for replying to my offer to help you out.

Here's a term for you to learn. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/motivation

I'm glad you're not looking at the Army. I offered to to send to p90x at my expense and all you can say is "na i never heard of it... sure ill take a copy if your willing to go out of your way like that... thanks!
nick sontag

And after the time you've post "search"

Don't bother with the USMC and stay away from the Army.

Good luck or _____, however you want to take it.

They'll start questioning his ability to weed out the applicants and he may loose that cushy billet and end up in something less desirable like latrine technician in Antarctica or something.

As for pull ups I was going to suggest you hit the local playground.. just use the monkey bars.
some playgrounds are actually laid out so you could use them to practice obstacle course running...
just do that at night so you don't scare/hurt any little kids 'k?

Just checking, I joined for the wrong reason, I got my wish, now it will be forever in the back of my head.

And whats wrong with the army? thats what I was. Served my term, got my honorable.

I will tell you what though, when you get your DD214, and it says honorable, there is no feeling like it.

As for P90X, never tried it, but always wanted to. Looks like its one of the training regimens that actually works. If he is offering it to you, take it.

When I went to join, I was at 270, the weight I had to meet was 195. I dropped that weight in one month. Go to the navy recruiter and ask him for the coffee/hotdog diet. Its disgusting, but it works.

@ 11 minute mile pace, he should have covered approximately 27.3 miles, @ 8 minute mile pace he should have covered approximately 37.5 miles. taking into consideration the 2009 boston marathon mens winner completed it in 2:08:42 (12.3 miles per hour), he would have completed approximately 62 miles!

the above numbers relfect my suspect mathematical abilities and should not be taken as accurate! nor should my running be used as comparison.

hes too brutish to fit the confines of the cockpit, a more dainty, svelt figure is required. the air force does eventually go away, marines on the other hand, like to stick around and make life miserable for the folks that dont know any better!

All I had to do was meet the weight, didnt have any consideration for anything else. I wanted in, and I was willing to do anything to do it, so I did. I was always hungry, just didnt eat anything that I wasnt supposed to. As per the running, not sure the distance, just got out and ran till I started dry heaving, drank some water, and did it again. You dont have to understand my reasons, but know the fact that I did everything I could to ensure my enlistment, and Gave 100% everyday I was in. Weight was a constant issue for me, something I delt with daily. Be it eating salad with no dressing for lunch and dinner, or just not eating that day because I was 10 pounds away from being overweight. What I did was NOT healthy in any way, but it worked for me and put me where I needed to be.

I did learn a great lesson though. And now that I do not have to conform to a specific weight, I can eat what I want, in moderation of course. My weight is currently steady and has been since I got out. Im now 6'2", 235lbs.

When I was in I was at 175-195. Annual? dang airforce lol. In the army, at least when I was in, it wasnt annual, it was whenever your c/o wanted to do it, usually every three months. But then again I was attached to 1/16 Mech. Inf..

man i dont know how much longer ill last on this no carb diet.... parents think its wrong to diet and im 'perfect the way i am and shouldnt lose any more weight' so theyre not supportin my diet and made SPAGHETTI... my favorite upon favorites of food.... oh man... my grilled chicken breast and salad (while tasty) pales next to spaghetti... and they just HAD to make it past 7pm. okay, so i cheated and took a little bit of it and put it in a container for lunch tomorrow... but i think i can tweak it a little... but i refuse to eat past 630, let alone spaghetti. am i right in this thinking?
man i cant wait to make weight so i can actually enlist.
OH. big question. i have student loans... some of you may remember i attended ITT-TECH in vegas in 2007.... but theyre SALLIEMAE loans, i have like a 1200 dollar federal loan, and a 6000 dollar private loan... air force will pay off 10k of student loan debt, but i heard they will only pay off federal loans and not private... is this true?

There is a diet where you are allowed to eat carbs in the morning, but must taper off during the day, and none at night. It worked for me a while ago. The theory is that carbs are the first thing to get used and if not, stored as fat - so, if you eat them while you're active, there's a lot less impact than when you're not.

Need to talk to your recruiter about the loans. Make sure to get in writing whatever you negotiate.

Thats where the P90X comes in handy. Switch it up. Run a 1/2 mile, then do some push ups, another half mile, then do some sit-ups.
