makes me wonder....

Im sure this would be a fun truck to drive somewhere that it doesn't rain, but the first creek crossing would put a damper on your day......

im pretty sure he is talking about the air intake that runs down the frame and comes out under the drivers door, hahaha that is the worst intake i have ever seen i cant believe they would even consider putting it there, might as well hook a hose to it when it rains

pretty sure the intake on the turbo is behind or underneath the rear passenger side door. you can see the lower control arm on one side. crazy weird turbo setup.

It's called a remote-mount turbo setup. It's fairly popular amongst the GM crowd.

There is a snorkel option and/or a sock thingy that can cover the cone filter, but I think if you're above the door jams in water than you're pretty much porked with this setup.

Getting the filter 'wet' from rain isn't a big deal. Submerging it would definately suck.

It's been done on a Taco, Here it is, looking for the article now.
It does well, but remember a lot of us hate mud and rock climb so why would we need to worry about deep water, usually stuff doesn't come over the half way point on the tire around trails I have been.

Fixed your link for you YotaFun.
You had in the img tags for pics, not the youtube tags for the video.

It's a nice looking rig, that's for sure. Not sure about the air filter being set under the truck, though. I didn't even think about rain. I was thinking more along the lines of how often you would have to clean it from road debris.
