Talking Its A Girl!!!!!!

This has been a rough weekend. Wife due in Febuary, go in for a routine checkup and BAM!! Got a 5lb, baby girl via C section 5:58pm EDT on friday. The wife had just started noticing some leakage a day or two earlyer. Not a lot though. Thought all was fine. Not so. That WAS the water so often talked about that breaks. No gush like I thought it would be, but the baby needed to be born now. They tried to induce labor, but the wifes BP would drop and the babys HB would drop too. Had to do emergency C section. Girls name is Emilie Elizibeth. I really did not know what to expect when the baby came. Would I be scared? Could I bond with it? Would I know what to do? Would I break it? But once it was born, it seems that its the most natural thing to hold and I feel that I know just what to do. BTW, I have only held 2 babies in my whole life and for only 2 or so min. and have never been around babies at all. The wife has always handled babies, kids and the like. She is a Pre K teacher and very sure of herself. I must say, I am pleased. We still had not really landed on a boys name. I guess the lord told me what I needed to know. Be afraid....be very afraid.....this girls gonna grow up and put a chevy big block in a 4 runner with 44s!!!

Congratulations! Sorry to hear she had to come by C-section, but at least all went well!

The round part is the top, or 'head', the two skinny things on the opposite end are 'legs', they go on the bottom

Emilie Elizabeth...That's great. Is that one name of first and middle?

Who is the big fan of "Clifford the Big Red Dog"?

Hey Congratulations Man!!! I've been going through the same things you have been (not knowing what to expect, and what not) a lot lately. My fiance (well she's my girlfriend until I can afford an engagement ring, but we want to get married. ) is due in February (35 weeks today).

That's a great name by the way My girlfriend and I are still trying to decide on a name, one that we've been toying with is Anne Elizabeth. We're not set on the first name yet, but we definitely want the middle name to be Elizabeth.

hehe I know what you mean about your little girl growing up to put a chevy big block into a 4Runner, I keep telling my girlfriend that our girl is going to drive a truck, and is going to enjoy offroading We've got to teach these kids right you know I'm going to take my baby (after she can kind of move around a bit, and after she's born obviously ) and my girlfriend camping, and out to the desert, and up to the mountains.

Anyway congrats again!!!

-Braden

Congrats!!!
I don't know what happened to me, but when our first was born...I completely changed. Not as your everyday self, but feelings. Thing's you wouldn't think twice about, you do now because you put your child or your self in that sitsuation, and you feel completely different about it.

Just don't watch that baby ER show on TLC, I can't think of the name. Geez...my wife watches that stuff all the time, and it just about rips your gut out.

Anyway...enjoy. Hopefully she won't have reflux, of colic. My little boy had both. Talk about NO SLEEP...

Congrats Willie!!! Excellent work!! Your story about your concerns sounds alot like me. I've been Daddy for 2.4 yrs. now. My daughter is Brenna Rose...... nothing else matters. You'll be an exceptional Dad. All your instincts take over, and you'll always seem to know what to do. It's amazing.
Tell your wife congrats (I'm sure she's taking SOME credit for the baby) and tell Emilie I said "4Runner"!
BTW, my wife is due end of March.. no idea what the baby is.... dont wanna know. And no names picked out yet. We're thinking "Number 2" as a name.

CONGRATS

Congratulations! Your life will now change forever. Hope you caught up on your sleep (and MODS) before the birth. Have fun. I immediately thought of the Clifford reference when I saw the name.

I had no idea about the "Big Red Dog" untill my wife told me about it. Once she was born and the word got out, guess what someone bought her as a present??

Yes, the name is first and middle. Braden, I like Anne Elizabeth.

The mod list will no doubt slow down a bit. Thats ok though. Checks and balances. Crazy part is that I tore the exhaust manifold off my truck to fix the stripped stud the day before we went to the checkup. While we were to be out that day I was going to get the parts needed and work on it that friday and saturday. Its still tore apart in my yard. The 4 runner is STILL at the shop getting put back together from the backwards HG fiasco. My moms car came to the rescue. Ive taken some days off from work to help my wife and have tried to get time to put the truck back together, but today, when I was going to try to work on it, we had to go for some checks on Emilie cause she wont feed right. We got that under control now, but that took all day. Well, I have till next monday untill I will really NEED it.

I must say, Im all into this baby thing. Ive changed diapers and clothes and such. I havent been spit up on yet, but I know its comming

Later yall!!!
