Angry Ingrown toe nails!

What do you when you get in-grown toe nails? I have one right now and it has made my toe swell and puss keeps leaking out of it!

I get them every few months. In the past, I have tried:
Cutting the nail out, the best I can. The bad thing is that when it grows back, it gets ingrown again.

Put cotton under the nail to push the nail up. Worked good on my other toe nail that was ingrown last month, but this time it isn't working.

ARRRRGH

I dealt with that a few months ago. Best thing is to just go to the podiatrist and let them do it. They can treat it with an acid or something that kills the root in that spot, so it won't grow back.

Take an emory board(fingernail file), and file down the center of your tow nail. Don't file down too far, but enough that it weakens the nail. Your body will focus on rebuilding the top of your nail instead of growing sideways, and as it grows on the top it will pull the sidesup relieving the pressure on your toe. My dad and I use this trick whenever we get one, and it's always worked.

Ouch, I have one that has appeared twice. I think I got rid of it this time for good. Use the curved nail "picker" thing on a pair of toe nail clippers to stuff cotton under the part that is ingrown - it will hurt a lot to poke the cotton under there, but it works. Then let the cotton soak up some Hydrogen Peroxide. It will bubble and fix and sting then do it again a minute later. Continue this twice a day (or thrice) until the puss is gone. Then.... don't cut the nail to short, let some hang over the side of the skin. I have trouble keeping that toe nail slightly longer than the rest.

I am doing that right now. It worked with my other toe last month. But for some reason, this one is being stubborn!

Thanks!
